Problems with Pierce cues

I got a cue from snowman34 here on AZ. The shaft was very loose like it had been cross threaded. Snowman asked how the cue was and I told him that i would probably have another shaft made cause this shaft was not what I expected. He said to send it to Jim from pierce cues and see what he said. So after jim looked at it he texted me that it needed a new tip and would send it back. Not sure what a tip had to do with the joint I said ok and contacted Snowman and requested a refund for the cue. He said that he would talk to Jim for me. The next thing I know Jim call me back and said he would make me another shaft for free. I said ok he said he had the rings already and it would take 3days and Jim said that for all the troubles he would plug the other shaft and re tap it so I would have 2 shafts. I said ok. So I get the cue back yesterday and I only got one shaft and a T-shirt. The shaft he sent already has a taper roll. I made a video and posted it to you tube. Jim is very immature and has sent me over 60 nasty test msgs calling me every name in the book. He has called me over 50 times and is now harassing me thinking that this behavior will make it better I guess. Here is the video, tell me what you think

I was considering ordering one of his hyped up shafts. Looks like I dodged a bullet. Thanks. Oh, and that is a bad taper roll btw.

Now he says he has a video that he took before he sent the shaft out and shaft was sent out in good shape. Talk is cheep. He wont show it but he says it was sent out straight and says I did something to it to damage it. So he is claiming i sent $650 to Snowman34 over a month ago and sent cue back after a million text and phone calls and now I finally got the cue I want with a new shaft and so I damage it on purpose. Does that make any sense to you?

This situation sucks. I simply tried to save Snowmans sale by jumping in and taking care of his customer. From the first conversation with John I told him I would do what ever it took to make the cue perfect. And when it left my hands it was perfect. So I feel I went above and beyond I even wet sanded and sprayed another coat on it since it was here . I sent him a shirt as a token no other reason.John is correct I told him I would tap and fix the original shaft that somehow got cross threaded but after I fixed it and hit with it I didn't like it so I guess it was a crappy shaft as for the new shaft already having a taper roll that sounds pretty far fetched unless the climate dif between Idaho and IN did it. I'm not going to b able to please everybody but I really try and I understand it's frustrating to purchase something and have issue with it. And all I can say is I'm sorry and keep trying

Care to elaborate on what he sent? It looks like on his post above he is trying to play the "nice guy trying to help out card"...if he is doing that while sending you nasty text messages that's pretty lame imo (IF true).

I sent out 5 cues and 2 shafts to customers that day and all of them other then John are guilt stoked and love them.. So if you feel u dodged a bullet bcuz a guy that might not b pleas able isn't pleased then I guess u did.. But if your interested in trying one of my shafts lmk and I will send u one to test drive

No wonder the guy thinks you should still make this right. Because thus far, you still haven't lived up to YOUR word.

Above and beyond would have been saying "Sorry the shaft I sent you isn't straight. Wasn't me but I'll swap it out for you. Send it back and once I receive it and confirm the roll, I'll send a NEW one out.

And what? You decided to scrap it? Did you tell the guy you were going to do that or did you just think "Well, I promised him a second shaft but, hell. One new shaft should suffice."




If you didn't want to have to deal with this OR be held accountable for any of this, you should have never said "I'll do whatever it takes to make this right". That was your first mistake. Saying "It was straight when I sent it. Sorry." was your second mistake. Simply assuming it was ok to NOT send the original shaft back after you repaired it was your third mistake. You can be as pissed as you want but from what I've read here, you created this situation you now don't want to be in.

FYI something doesn't have to be round to be straight. So the question is.....Is it straight?

Many custom made shafts are straight but have taper roll due to a "person" turning the shaft down with various pressures.

and as far as Predators not being straight, thats why I have an OB
This pierce was going to be an everyday player,2nd only in 20plus years. Did you get a chance to look at the video. Tapper roll is putting it mildly. Its warped.

Ya I looked at it I have many just like it it certainly would not keep me from playing with it tip stays on the table I'm good ,, I have 2 OBs neither dead straight ,, now my dead straight means just that ,, I can count on my hand how many of those I have had in 40 yrs all of those where older shafts with gradual taper not like today's long taper

If you look at 22 to 26 seconds of the video thats closer to what it looks like in person. The camera on my phone is high up and would not get very close to the table so its hard to see how much wobble it has. Its worst in person.
How does it play? Well Jay I only hit a few balls with it so far because Im just tired of all the B.S that went on with this cue. Its going 2 months dealing with it. So After opening the tube and seeing only one shaft I put it down and at that point I just was going to sell it. Then I measured and rolled it on the table, after all the crazy text msgs, and found the roll. I know you have been in the pool world along time, but me , Im just a working man who wanted a nice cue with a straight shaft which is what I paid for and did not receive. Maybe you can throw $650 around and chalk it up to normal tapper roll. Im cant. Im not selling it cause I would not pass the shaft on to anyone . Thanks for looking.

The bottom line it's not straight and if it was being sold as straight it's not ,,

I'm not wanting to take sides here, but that shaft is not warped. Even the "taper roll" (if that means center lift) is not that bad.
