Proposed TAR - TOI VS NO AIMING SYSTEM

Grandpa can still shoot pretty straight.

I read your post grandpa, and I did not use up my last brain cell on my last post. I easily have 17 to 48 left. Plenty enough for you. I am looking forward to the thread you mentioned.

PS. Love your new movie, it's very funny.

Be careful Grandpa can still shoot pretty straight - if we could just get him to shoot at his pocket once in a while. ;)

Because that's all we've been playing lately and I've been showing many people the intricacies of 'Two Shot Shoot Out".....and that's the game we've been talking about in this thread......is it strategically more difficult than one pocket or not? I believe it is, since the shots that come up are far more difficult on the average, and there is the "Shoot or Pass" element that I find very appealing.

We'll prove the difference one of these days, I know many will be surprised how that comes out. I've got a new interest in Pool again, I had forgot how great these rules are.

Here's a picture of a cue like the one in the story, there aren't many of them, We just found this one while going through my cue collection.

Don't tell me, the cue is for sale?

Not much pool viewing today but when there is, why do you watch?
Do you care what game they are playing? No
Do you care who is playing? yes
What aspects of the game do you enjoy? kicks and safeties. High runs
Is it more about name recognition than anything? I don't follow all the pro's. I am from Maryland and like following Saez and Wilkie. Along with SVB and EARL who aren't from MD.

the battle of wits, the "Dare"....will they "call" or will they "fold"

You are the current "target demographic" and thanks for you support. We are changing some things so that we draw in a new "target demographic" that seeks something that they currently get from other sports and games.......the battle of wits, the "Dare"....will they "call" or will they "fold"......and is the player just "bluffing".

it was best to "admire from a distance," so I listened to my "inner game voice"

sorry, but we are all @ here today -

hey CJ - what would YOU do, in this instance?
(not that you'd ever put yourself in this position)
seriously?

I'm not sure what "instance" you are referring to...something about bonus ball?

I had an interesting experience with bonus ball and Larry, I went to Phoenix twice to meet with him at his place there. I got all kinds of mixed messages, both verbal and non verbal. I decided it was best to "admire from a distance," so I listened to my "inner game voice";)

good post & as a businessman.
(albeit off the Topic)
thank you.

.it's our escape, it's our sanctuary from the "world".

LOL! That is why they make fake moustaches and sunglasses! :)

Watching these games are on MY "Most wanted list"!

If we streamed what was going on it would be over within a week. Some things are meant to be public and some things are meant to be private......none of us want "Big Brother" watching over us when we're gambling.....it's our escape, it's our sanctuary from the "world". :D I, personally would prefer to never play on "streaming," it just makes me want to lay down a "lemon," and that's what I usually end up doing. ;)

I can understand not wanting to stream a gambling match, but why not record a short race of you playing someone (not for money), and upload it to Youtube?

I'd think that for someone that's so adamant about making 2F9B the norm, you'd be trying to get it out there to pool world. Not everyone that plays pool comes to these forums, or has read this thread.

Just a thought.

Live stream may be the only hope for pool.

I think you may be right. Streaming matches and all the stuff on YouTube is a big part of me getting back into pool after a very long layoff. I can't help but think many others will find these things and get inspired to try the game for the first time.

I personally think the days of TV are drawing to a close, and not just in pool. Hell, I don't even get cable anymore. 200 channels of garbage is what it's become, and I have better ways to spend my wife's money. ;)

Maybe I am missing something. This kinda turned into what's best for pool in the future. Guess my question would be to CJ. What do you think about the opinion of the people on this forum when it comes to pool? Do you think people joined this forum because they have a passion for pool? What I am getting at is there are a lot of people who are passionate about pool on this forum. Like their opinion or not. I may not have read every thread on here so I might be wrong. I don't think once have you ASKED for anyone's opinion about what they thought might bring better viewership to pool. Seems like you keep telling everyone. Maybe you could try asking a few question about the future of pool. Then you might get honest opinions instead of people jumping on you for TELLING us what's best. Seems a forum about POOL would be a great place to ASK questions.

Hmmm, well, maybe, perhaps, makes sense, could work, but nawww, ain't happening, that just doesn't seem like a CJ move. IMO.

I believe when we are stuck in our own lives or in a business the best thing to do is the opposite of what we've been doing or thinking. I work with consultants in the restaurant and bar industry, as well as friends that do consulting for major corporations through the use of internet "Think Tanks" (usually 1000 people of various demographics that make a living answering questions on products, services and entertainment).

The ironic thing is the people that are involved in pool and those that would watch as fans are completely different. So I do ask many questions about pool, although it's always to the "Think Tank"......then we run some of the ideas through the forum to make sure no one agrees (of course a few players do agree).......then we know it's "gold". ;) 'The Game is the Teacher'

I "never" play for over $10 or $20 a game.

Live stream may be the only hope for pool.

It may be good for tournament pool in some way, although I still can't figure out why, TV is obviously the only media that brings in new customers......streaming is definitely not good for high stakes gambling because it's not legal and the ones that have the largest BR's aren't comfortable doing it in front of "the world". How can anyone blame them?

H.L.S and other "agencies" watch streaming video of illegal activities....it makes their jobs so much earlier. They also read this forum, I know this, one of them actually contacted me about a gambling incedent.....gambling over a certain amount has some pretty stiff penalties. That's why I "never" play for over $10 or $20 a game. :D
