Proposition bet ruling requested!

Thanks for the responses, everyone! And for the record, I was Player B, the bet was for $100, and I most certainly did get paid! And no, GoldCrown, I didn't have the Smith with me. If push comes to shove, there are more than enough of those in the bar to enforce bets as it is.
I had a friend that was shot and killed in a bar dispute. An innocent bystander seated at the bar. The only bar patron that wasn't Packing.

Killed over nothing. Sad how a dispute escalates. Knew a person in the 60's got stabbed over a $5.00 game. Sorry to high-jack ...I got beat twice and never played for $$ again. If I ever lost I'd paid up and done.

Player A every time
Prop bets need to have ALL details before the shot. NO mention of scratching. As he stated, this was NOT a game situation. B made the shot, B gets paid. 'A' needs to be a lil smarter with his prop bets.

Agreed with 'made the cut, pay me'. To talk about scratching would be as stupid as saying "Well if we were in a game and the 13 ball had been here you wouldn't have gotten good position". Entirely out of the scope of the bet. I would demand my money here.

I never considered it gambling. Playing for money should be play .. My first rule is never play for more than I can afford to lose or be cheated out of.🤷
Gun fighting is not something I want to play. When I drove cab in Reno 1978, guns were not allowed for drivers. Some did carry. A dozen drivers a week went through basic. Most didn't last the week. The night before I started a driver had his throat cut from behind. (Never put them in the back seat.Never!
My safety plan involved giving them the car and all in it. As I had assessment of open door and press gas as I dive out at 20 mph or less doable.
My gunfight would only be me choose to disarm. The fight over one gun is more palletable than 2 guns at a foot apart. I am thankful I never had to make the choice. I do remember having the left on the door handle, more than once.

My friends father got robbed/killed by knife as a cab driver. We were 14 years old. His older brother & uncle went to the courtroom as the killer was being escorted to court. The 2 attacked the suspect and beat him as badly as they could until they were restrained. The murderer got released on a technicality a few appearances later.
Me..I got robbed at gunpoint at work...gave up everything as fast and clam as I could. I thought the pos drug ridden robber was the last person I would be looking at. Scary experience. Real scary.
Anyway in the mid 60's I was playing $1 a game 1ball in the corner... I was up $20 and guy leaves the pool room. And he was a regular. Happened weeks later with a different player. I was hitting good, Up $20 and he leaves. A regular also. Must be something about $20. I was making $1.25 and hour ...bringing home $42.40. $20 was a lot of money. I should look them up and thank them. I had regular weekly game of Odd ball partners. $1.00 a way. Played 2 games. Settled up and changed partners. That was fun. I was never good enough to be a money player so I never looked for a game other than 50points for $5 and time with someone my level.
Interesting about the OP's situation. There's nothing worse than a bad loser especially for $100. (referring to the guy calling a scratch voids the bet)

Just kidding about the Smith... my poor humor takes over sometimes. Can you set up the shot. I'd like to see it. Thanks....... and btw Your avatar (album) is one of My Favorite Things.
I knew you were kidding bro...or at least I hoped so! :) And My Favorite Things was my introduction to Coltrane. You know the rest of the story!

Anyway, here's the shot. Nothing complicated. In truth, the bet was made as the result of that lethal combination--testosterone and alcohol. Since I had no consideration for the path of the cue ball, I just played the shot with a high ball and no English--scratched two rails in the side.

Thanks for posting. Nice 1p shot. Enjoy that C note

What about giving someone the break and BIH as his spot, but he scratches on the break? (Playing 9 ball) Does he still get BIH or is it now the person who is giving the spot, turn to shoot?

If you have to give him that much weight he probably can't run out anyway.
But really, what's the difference anyway other than just trying to come up with a way to get an edge for that one game and reduce the weight that was given him?
If he doesn't scratch he gets BIH? Does he if he doesn't make a ball on the break?
Discuss all that beforehand, or just say BIH for you after you break no matter what.

I had same bet on an 'impossible' bank. A high rank league player setup a shot and was looking for solutions. I said bank goes and she dismissively said that if I can bank that ball she will give me $50. So I hit it and as soon as contact was made I yelled 'Fifty bucks', then the cue ball ame around 3 rails and scratched and she yelled 'Not fifty bucks'. We had a laugh and left it at that.

Well that's where the issue lied. We we're playing one game for $100 on a bar box. I gave him the break and BIH. He broke and jumped the cue ball off the table. Of course with him getting the break, even if he doesn't make a ball, he still gets BIH. I never thought to preface the spot if he fouled on the break.

anytime you make a prop bet on a shot it is assumed by gamblers that it is to be a legal and complete shot.

otherwise its a gimmick and a possible argument,

or as an example i bet i can shoot that long shot in. and instead of shooting the cueball i just shot the object ball in. do i get paid as i did what i said. you can make all sorts of props like that.

or then he says bet a hundred and you say okay. and he loses and gives you a dollar. and says you didnt stipulate pennies or dollars.

so thats why you dont bet with non gamblers as they have no idea of what is right and wrong in bets. proof is in the pudding here.
