Well aren't you a bucket of sunshine this morningJust give the guy his $5 and move on. Next time clear it up before he shoots.

I had a friend that was shot and killed in a bar dispute. An innocent bystander seated at the bar. The only bar patron that wasn't Packing. Thanks for the responses, everyone! And for the record, I was Player B, the bet was for $100, and I most certainly did get paid! And no, GoldCrown, I didn't have the Smith with me. If push comes to shove, there are more than enough of those in the bar to enforce bets as it is.![]()
Killed over nothing. Sad how a dispute escalates. Knew a person in the 60's got stabbed over a $5.00 game. Sorry to high-jack ...I got beat twice and never played for $$ again. If I ever lost I'd paid up and done.I had a friend that was shot and killed in a bar dispute. An innocent bystander seated at the bar. The only bar patron that wasn't Packing.
B. no mention of scratching.Player A bets Player B that he can't cut the 12-ball into a corner pocket (not a game situation--just two balls set up on the table). Player B makes the ball and scratches. Who gets paid?

Prop bets need to have ALL details before the shot. NO mention of scratching. As he stated, this was NOT a game situation. B made the shot, B gets paid. 'A' needs to be a lil smarter with his prop bets.Player A every time
working and typing, I meant PLAYER B!!!Prop bets need to have ALL details before the shot. NO mention of scratching. As he stated, this was NOT a game situation. B made the shot, B gets paid. 'A' needs to be a lil smarter with his prop bets.
I never considered it gambling. Playing for money should be play .. My first rule is never play for more than I can afford to lose or be cheated out of.Killed over nothing. My friends father got robbed/killed by knife as a cab driver. We were 14 years old. His older brother & uncle went to the courtroom as the killer was being escorted to court. The 2 attacked the suspect and beat him as badly as they could until they were restrained. The murderer got released on a technicality a few appearances later.I never considered it gambling. Playing for money should be play .. My first rule is never play for more than I can afford to lose or be cheated out of.
Gun fighting is not something I want to play. When I drove cab in Reno 1978, guns were not allowed for drivers. Some did carry. A dozen drivers a week went through basic. Most didn't last the week. The night before I started a driver had his throat cut from behind. (Never put them in the back seat.Never!
My safety plan involved giving them the car and all in it. As I had assessment of open door and press gas as I dive out at 20 mph or less doable.
My gunfight would only be me choose to disarm. The fight over one gun is more palletable than 2 guns at a foot apart. I am thankful I never had to make the choice. I do remember having the left on the door handle, more than once.
I knew you were kidding bro...or at least I hoped so!Just kidding about the Smith... my poor humor takes over sometimes. Can you set up the shot. I'd like to see it. Thanks....... and btw Your avatar (album) is one of My Favorite Things.
Thanks for posting. Nice 1p shot. Enjoy that C noteI knew you were kidding bro...or at least I hoped so!And My Favorite Things was my introduction to Coltrane. You know the rest of the story!
Anyway, here's the shot. Nothing complicated. In truth, the bet was made as the result of that lethal combination--testosterone and alcohol. Since I had no consideration for the path of the cue ball, I just played the shot with a high ball and no English--scratched two rails in the side.

If you have to give him that much weight he probably can't run out anyway. What about giving someone the break and BIH as his spot, but he scratches on the break? (Playing 9 ball) Does he still get BIH or is it now the person who is giving the spot, turn to shoot?
Well that's where the issue lied. We we're playing one game for $100 on a bar box. I gave him the break and BIH. He broke and jumped the cue ball off the table. Of course with him getting the break, even if he doesn't make a ball, he still gets BIH. I never thought to preface the spot if he fouled on the break. If you have to give him that much weight he probably can't run out anyway.
But really, what's the difference anyway other than just trying to come up with a way to get an edge for that one game and reduce the weight that was given him?
If he doesn't scratch he gets BIH? Does he if he doesn't make a ball on the break?
Discuss all that beforehand, or just say BIH for you after you break no matter what.
