Call Corey Harper at the banner at the bottom of my signature. Corey is in Pasadena. He's quite competitive at the pro level, is a great guy and an excellent teacher.

I don't know if we should impose the Naj on poor Corey.

Haha, I kid. Let those 2 bums suffer their day together!!!

Pros in Pasadena? Just one that I know of ...

Pros don't hang out in Pasadena at all, unless they're there to visit Corey Harper.

The only pool room of note near Pasadena is Embassy, but it caters to the Chinese/Taiwanese crowd, so if you don't speak the language or come in with someone familiar to them, you might be inadvertently thrown in with the bangers in the back on the banger tables. Despite that, it has THE BEST equipment in southern California. It also has 10 or so 6x12 snooker tables, some great players (generally snooker players that dabble in pool, not quite pros, but a few will surprise you), and a great menu if you like Chinese food.

If you don't feel comfortable walking into a room like that or simply want to find actual pros, your best bet is Hardtimes, which shouldn't take more than 30 minutes as long as you don't get stuck in traffic. There, Dave Hemmah is the house pro and quite a few others drop in from time to time.

Pasadena just does not have it, the closest and best is Hard Times. They have a good Sunday tourney, starts around noon.

There is Jakes in Pasadena, by no means a "players room" the tables are decent but the pockets are huge and they are all too close together. The management is very nice and they do have a decent turn out on Sundays for their 8 ball tournament but there is no action... if that is what your looking for.

If the traffic is not bad you can get to Hard Times in less than 30 minutes.

Looking for good players pool hall, not drinking bar? I called your phone, it says you are re-locating to a new store that will open end of January, i guess you are still closed.

Re-opened at a new location:

Crown City Billiards
