Prulhiere cue review

I bought one Ebay pretty cheap...the results were much the same. I sold it to someone else who doesn't like it much either but they wanted a cheap cue to bang around with. Just the facts. The cue was new but had scratches and dings. The leather wrap was done poorly and the cue did not hit good at all in my opinion.

I now have a Bob Frey and can't say enough good things about it. Awesome cue!
 
Since posting this on ebay I have received a few emails I thought I would share. The last one is my favorite.

"He sold my a cue that was made very poorly. didn't respond to my second email. wrap on the cue was put on by stevie wonder. The finish was bumpy and had waves. Also was not glossy but rough, like sand. Sorry for your loss. Good luck with this sale."

"I bought a Prulhiere cue and it was garbage. The finish was wavy , the leather wrap was like it was made from his biking jacket."

"You are a son of a *****. Simply that."
 
Quick question, isn't it common for cues to be cored with a different type of wood in the middle than the outside? I thought this was how cue makers dealt with weight issues on some of the more exotic woods.

Is that different than what was done here?

He did not core the cue by drilling a hole in the forearm and inserting a long dowel
He wrapped thin veneer around the forearm.
 
I bought a Prulhiere cue on Ebay for $150. and it was junk. The finish was crude and full of ripples. When I tried to sell it, the interested buyer called him about the leather wrap and he told him it was from his old biking jacket. How about that? I threw it in the garbage where it belonged. He should give up trying to make cues and go into photography. His pictures are better then his cues.
 
Salvaging top grade leather from a Harley Davidson Jacket is now cheap too? WTH is wrong with that. You can't buy any better leather. If another maker said he recycled top grade leather he would be told what a good idea it was. This is just stupid.

If I was a cue maker that was proud of my work, and of meeting and exceeding my customers expectations, I would request my previous and satisfied customers to speak out for me and sing their praises of my work. This is especially true if my fine reputation was being besmirched, stepped on and generally forsaken..

Note to Brian Prulhiere, As a previous customer of yours, don't waste your time asking me to give you any kind of support on this forum because, as we both know, your work, in general, kind of sucks. Sorry.

Do not worry for a minute about me asking you for anything. Your post was nothing more than a childish attempt to be part of something that looks like fun. No one notices any post when someone says something good about me. I feel bad saying this, but I didn't realize how many people there were out there that thrive on this. This thread has been pretty much dead, then along comes a "Chicken" to try to re-fire it. I would love to tell you where to stick your "note to Brian" but for some dumb reason, I still want to be able to visit this site. There are still some good people on here.

ps. Did you get the word "besmirched" from your word a day calendar?

Guns, I do not care in the least what you have to say about me. You have never made a post on this site that has been about anything other than this. You signed up here for this reason. What is wrong with you. What input have you had on this site? You spend all of your time making up lies and complaining. I do not owe you ANYTHING! You made the decision to take doing "this" over a refund. Just because everything has not come out on here, and I will not stoop to that level. You act like you were done dirty. You got EXACTLY what you said to me in an email that you wanted. There are some people that think you are on the ups, but you and I know better. You act like you couldn't have worked out something with me. That is a HUGE lie. I am completely done with this. You started these posts before you even sent me a single message about your issue. The first thing I ever got from you was an email saying basically "Look what I did on AZ, now if you give me my money I will take it down." You didn't do this to help others avoid me. You used it as a tool that you were more than willing to take down if I met your demands. A normal person sends an email saying I don't like the cue. I am done with you. I don't care what you say about me. Anyone who buys your crap at this point has that right, but I hope they are smart enough to realize there are always two sides to everything. Go, have your fun, keep posting your fake eBay adds, but you have earned this and will not get a thing from me no matter how hard you try to ruin my business. Anyone who thinks I am a piece of crap for not giving you a refund does not have a clue about what actually happened between us. They just assume I am another POS maker and joe customer is automatically right.
 
As a outsider looking in,my thoughts are that you make mistakes like we all do
but its how we fix them that matters the most.
I've read some great reviews about your work and the prices they purchase them for.
Your itrader alone tells me you've done something right for people to be happy
with there purchase.If some people regret there purchase then try and do what
you can to help.Some people are just impossible to satisfy which comes with the territory.
From what I've read in the past, you seem like a decent guy doing his best to make an
affordable cue for people.
IMO,your catching a lot of slack that's really not necessary,if the OP in fact didn't
notify you first before coming on here and start the mud-slinging.
Its hard to fix a problem if you don't know about it!!Goodluck
 
Those cues are bad. To be honest you can get a cue from the local sporting goods store and Walmart better built than that.

At least they are not charging and claiming to be something they are not.

Don't all cuemakers use new leather blanks? Not used pieces of a jacket? I know I do, and would never consider using a USED piece of leather in a customer's cue. Customers don't want your jacket on their cue, they want NEW leather... Come on, you and I both know what it costs to buy a leather blank from Atlas, if you can't afford that, then keep the jacket so you can keep warm at least, and sell your equipment to heat the house and find another day job. Sorry to sound harsh, but really?? If I did that around my area and let that be known, like you just did, I would never be able to sell a cue after that and be laughed at every time I showed my face ..
