Put Earl Strickland on Team USA in 2017 Mosconi Cup

Are you European? Figures! You Europeans can't handle the truth. Earl will wipe the floor with all of those Team European members. He's in dead-punch stroke and in the best shape of his life. Come get you some, Euro!

Well you might have to get Earl cloned because u have lost the last seven Mosconi cups against all of those European team members 😄

There's a lot of folk who don't think the European Johann should be the captain of Team USA, but if he is going to be the captain, he should pick the best players for the team. And that's Earl Strickland. What Europeans think about Earl is immaterial at this juncture. So hate on! It's good for the rivalry.

He could pick a team of Europeans and Earl and then maybe u would have a fighting chance 😅

Earl has already put 100 percent of himself in any event he shoots in. Aside from his multiple championship titles, too numerous to name here, this BCA Hall of Famer can get there.

Though Earl has always put an effort on exercise and keeping in shape, he has never been in better shape now. Those on the scene in recent events said Earl arrived chipper and in tip-top condition, raring to go. He is the epitome of American pool, and like it or not, he's a crowd favorite to watch in every single event he competes in.

It is my understanding that the European team captain who is supposed to be Team USA captain has a couple wildcard picks. Earl Strickland should be one of them. Shane likes playing with Earl, and he is well respected by many of today's American young guns.

Team USA needs a veteran on the team, someone who's not afraid of the lights and cameras, someone who can handle the pressure on the TV table. There is no better representative in these United States of America than Earl Strickland. To not choose him would be wrong. And believe me, nobody on Team Europe would look forward to playing against Earl because they know he is powerful and can fight back.

December 4-7, 2017, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Earl Strickland for 2017 Mosconi Cup! USA, ALL THE WAY with Earl on the team!

You know Jam, that is not a bad idea. There is no dog in Earl and he isn`t afraid of much.

Yes, the euros have finally tied the series, and after only 23 years.

Strange way of looking at it the initial years was when the game was in its formative years in Europe. Now they have the hang of it the Americans havent put up any type of fight. Seven loses in a row and u try and find a way of defending that? It is clear the European players are far superior to the Americans.

Again, the Team USA Captain has two wild card picks, which means he does *NOT* have to go by the points.

The captain only has 1 wild card pick...

"With the selection procedure this year entirely down to the captain, providing at least four of the five players selected are in the top ten of the rankings which conclude in early September."

GO USA!!!

Get rid of jump cues, that is the the major thing I have seen that enabled Europeans to win, they use the short cues to get out of issues, and the silly break rules.

First year they ban jump cues and rack normally, I am betting on the US to win or get within a few games.

I think like everything else it's cyclical, this or the next 2 or 3 years the Americans will begin to win again.
It's the natural order of things. Or perhaps the rules will change, for the euros to play for team europe they
will have to live in europe. How would an American team look with the euros and the Pinoys and Asians
that live here playing on it.
Or team USA will become Team Americas to include Canadians, Mexicans, and South Americans and the territories .
Even so, even without any changes things are due to change up, it's just the way things go

Earl Strickland has become the Bobby Fisher of pool. We don't need someone with his unstable personality representing the U.S. in the Cup.

JAM, I know you reside somewhere up Earl's ass, but being European is not a reason to think Earl is a dick, it's his behaviour that gives that away. I'm sure Johann knows that picking Earl is a recipe for disaster for his team.

Possibly best line of all time on AZB.

Ask Shane if Earl should be on the team.

If Shane says "yes", then Earl should be a part of the team.

Well, that settles it, then. The majority of European AzB-ers and unidentified trolls and banned members posting do not want Earl in the Mosconi Cup. Everybody else does.

I am going to prepare a written correspondence to Matchroom Sport with a cc Johann and Luke Riches in hopes that they will consider Earl Strickland for inclusion as a member of Team USA, and then I will detail the reasons why.

What I write on this forum is sometimes met with deaf ears, as some members only like to ridicule and cause hurt and/or anger on a forum, but when I express my thoughts in print for something I feel strongly about, I'm pretty good at that.

Carry on. You can resume whining and moaning about Zuglan's no-refund policy or the next flavor of the month. My work is done here.

The captain gets to pick 4 players out of the top 10 in points.
He then gets one wild card pick.

Earl currently has 30 points (15 points earned in two events) and is in 16th place. He has only played in 2 out of 13 possible Mosconi Cup Point events so far, with limited success.

To me, hand outs should be over with at the Mosconi Cup. Was Earl a great player? Yes. He is still a great player? No. Why do I say that? Cause he hasn't won anything in a long time and he simply doesn't play much.
We have seen in the past what happens when a Mosconi Cup captain gives out a handout to a player that hasn't been playing. They simply don't perform well at all, if not the worst of the group.

Didnt he win last week?
