Not only did I give up on expanding pool for juniors I gave up on teaching/coaching completely. Moved on to other endeavors. No more youth involvement for me.

Kind of a sadness on the edge of your words. Something serious must of happened.

The big obstacle to pool tables in schools is the student to table ratio and the amount of space tables take up. If a high number of kids can’t be engaged concurrently it will not happen.

It wasn’t a single event. I was a teacher for 22 years and it was a slow year over year erosion of an environment that allowed me to do my job and maintain a productive structure. It’s not a good time in our culture to work with youth in any capacity.

Portable tables are the only real answer. Problem is when I looked in to them they are mostly sold in Australia without a North American supplier. Purist would scoff at the idea of a portable table but you would have to be willing to go this route if you want it to happen on a campus.

I didn’t give up on the youth as much as I gave up on all the structural nonsense surrounding the youth that fosters antisocial behavior. The problem with youth is all the fine print that will take a good program and completely ruin it.

It's like death by a thousand cuts. We all have stories. Mine is too long nor appropriate to tell here but it has been over 40 years and it changed me permanently. When the SHTF you find who your friends are and are not and it can be surprising. My wife and I let no one in our life anymore.
