Despite the big prize fund, this WPA event has a weak field as a the result of the “split” between WPA and MR/WNT.
Field includes 18x800+ (Top 50 Fargo) who apparently no longer play in WNT tour and excludes about 2 dozen 800+ (Top 50 Fargo) WNT Pro players:LOL:

i don't think they no longer play WNT tour, they just didn't play hanoi = didn't piss off ACBS.

There is a qualifier which has a few interesting entries such as Ruslan Chinahov and Marlon Manalo.

marlon manalo.. talk about a blast from the past

I see that a "Thorsten Homann" is entered. Maybe that's a typo.

Manalo quit pool at the top of his game to enter politics. That was right at the end of the IPT from what I can recall. He might have played in Hopkins' 1 "million" dollar tournament at the summer expo a year or two later, I can't recall for sure. The one where Corey beat Shane in the final and took home a gold bracelet. That was probably 2008.

Guy's, get your shit together and put the WPA out of business! United you stand / divided you fall.

Blast from past , 2 old veterans Manalo and Stepanov fighting it out in preliminary Stage 1 (1st chance)

Brackets for stage 1 (1st chance to 4th chance)

A guy in the chat pointed out that the direct overhead image is reversed.

The Stepanov/Manalo match lost it's score visual when the score went to 3-2.

And the video director has no idea of when he should hold a view or cut to another.

It seems the stream has ended for the day.

an unexpected career route for a pool player (or snooker / pool player in his case). i mostly remember a foul in the IPT he didn't own up to, but also being a straight shooter.

probably too long hiatus for a comeback, especially in today's level of competition. but he looks alright, looks to be in decent shape
