Question- about AZ's PG rating

The Moderators are censoring threads and posts constantly pulling them.

Would it be a good idea to have an "adult" section where there is no censorship of any kind sort a kinda " gloves off section".


Food for thought because alot of AZ'rs spent their time in poolhalls and bars. Not excactly most innocent group of people that usually frequent this forum

If something got out of hand they could take it to this new area
It would keep the integrity of what they already have now but allow a place for people to be totaly free.

Could be a double edged sword:

- invite even more trouble than we already receive

- capture some pretty colorful stories otherwise not currently allowed
 
I agree... get all the trash talking punkers off the main page. Let them have their own sections .. .

Call it 'insults and cursing' all you can handle. Members only.
 
Forums are for uncensored speech, or at least they should be. Put me down for a hell no on this one.

this and the places you mention remain public, thats why there are rules here and there.

Adult area would not just be for the trash talkers.

It could also be for like "the funny thread" I've heard alot of jokes in the poolhall I can't repeat here.
or there a topics brought up here you want to talk about but you have to wait to talk to your friends in person at the poolhall. Because if you made your true feelings known here it would be censored and yanked.

It could be called "Adult Poolhall Forum"
and have a disclaimer "This content in no way reflects the views of this channel or its affiates"

Segregation??

Leper Colonies?

Apartheid??

"No Negroes Allowed"?

"Health Certificate Required for Entry"??

WRONG! This is a Community and, as such, has certain societal rules. Some are written, others are implicit. They must be adhered to or society breaks down.

It is the very Law & Order that you are against that provided you with the ability to speak out against it.

Ironic, huh??

We used to have something like that. It was called RSB or Rec.Sport.billiard newsgroup. To tell you the truth, it got out of hand! I think it's a dead spam group now.

I'm a Vietnam vet sailor, who's owned 2 bars and 2 poolrooms and spent over 20 years "on the road". I've seen and heard it all! The internet changed all that! I guarantee that the woofing, insults, profanity that you'd have on the net, if it isn't kept "in check" would easily be tenfold what you'd hear in even the seediest of pool rooms or bars. The "Keyboard Commandos" hide behind screen names and feel invulnerable. They would never say the same things "face-to-face" that they spew out anonomously, at least not more than once!

People have gotten used to being at least civil here in AZ. They may even have improved vocabulary and computer skills here.:) I think it would be a "step back" to have an unmoderated forum. :eek:

Well, if a section like that was created it would have to be locked down to people over 21 only. That would take a lot of work and from what I've seen around here over the past few years I don't see anyone stepping up to take on that much responsibility. It is done though. I belong to a few boards that have locked down areas where you're free to use the F word. But everyone that is a member in those areas has to have permission from the mods to be there. I don't think something like that would work here.

There is already a forum where you can go to trash talk all you want to - Jim Brennan started it - it's uncensored - go - have fun -

I prefer a somewhat more civil environment.
 
There are plenty of sites where you can read or write all the garbage you want. I don't think we need any filth on this forum.
 
I'm no stranger to vulgar speech, nor am I a prude or bible thumper. I think if you are unable to convey your feelings or thoughts without resorting to vulgarity it shows a decided lack of intelligence and a severely limited vocabulary. I'm not above the occasional damn, or sh!t myself, but I usually regret degrading my comments or opinions by the use of same. To quote a lady friend of mine....Manners are a sign of intelligence, they're what separate the rednecks from the ladys and the gents. I subscribe to this outlook as well. I think if you find the need to puncuate your posts or arguements with trash talk, they deserve little or no consideration. Just my $.02........Dan
