Question about brunswick model

I found this http://www.chicagobilliardmuseum.org/files/Centennial_DC_1946.pdf in another thread and it is for a Centennial. I was looking at the model on the from and noticed that it says "Model D-C"

I have a sportking and I dont know the year, but the model is stamped "D-C" on the back of one of the apron pieces. Would that guide serve the same purpose even if I dont have a centennial?

Reason I want to know is that I am restoring it and I want to see what pieces I am missing or that have been retrofitted to the table.

Thank you!

i'll let it slide. but for the record, UT grads all secretly wish to be aggies!

that centennial manual isnt gonna be much help.
but, the good news is, i'm pretty sure that one of the classic table handlers will either have the documentation you need, or, if you send them pics, they may be able to help you ID anything that is missing, or has been replaced.

Model D-C

Danny,

I think Centennials, Anniversaries, (and possibly Sport Kings) were available in a progression of models, from Model C, to Model C-1, to the later Model D-C.

I think that the differences were the casting finish on the C's and C-1's were a baked finish, and the finish on the D-C's were polished. I believe all models had aluminum castings.

Also, I think the C models did not have castings at the side pockets. The D-C's had two piece side rails with castings for the side pockets.

Further, I think Sport Kings and Anniversaries have the same rails. If that is the case, then the D-C stamp on your Sport King would indicate it has the later model D-C Anniversary rail.

According to Brunswick, the C's and C-1's had a five hole nut plate; the D-C's had the famous figure 8 nut plate.

Although I do have a Sport King, most of this info was learned on this forum  and Brunswick's web site.

Thank you for the informative post. I was searching a bit earlier when I made that post but I had to do something here at work.

I'll looke again when I have more time. Thanks again

Scruffy1,

Nice parts list. Could you tell me what it says about the aprons, 48, 52, 56?
And also the leg #1.
Thanks.

Parts List for Sport King

Thanks, Scruffy1.

The only Sport King I've had any hands on contact with in years has the particle board aprons and legs. Both are painted with the splatter finish. I was just wondering if the multiple part numbers might have been an upgrade to wood or even formica.

I think the 3 listings are for pool, carom and snooker sides. Yes, we see that splatter paint a lot here also. Lots of different splatter colors also.

That pretty cool. Do you know what years these models were manufactured? I'm going to do a parts check soon since you posted that diagram. Thanks!

Thanks for digging that up John, now I feel bad for not mentioning your name ! I figured you were too busy so I didnt want to be a pest.

Yep

You bet I'm interested. I love old Brunswicks, and it's sure good to see someone go the extra mile to put one back in fine condition.

Congratulations on your project.
