Question About the Streaming of the Jeanette - Vivian match?

wtf? no one was "threatened". it sounds like miscommunication. not everyone has to cry victim!

Nobody is crying victim, Ironman317. I have decided to delete my response to you. I have my own opinion and STRONG feelings about why I wrote what I did, but I won't elaborate on this forum. Some people are users; some people are givers.

Exactly ironman - miscommunication in that a person streaming the event (Lenny) quotes that the WPBA was requiring a fee and the WPBA (Melissa Herndon) stating that no fee was paid.

I think it is great that the stream is happening. I watched a wee bit of it last night, and it was excellent. The commentary between Shawn and Jerry was first class. The atmosphere in the chat room was pleasant. There were a few cameo appearances by some pros. All in all, I thought it was well done.

I missed it as I was out and about. I don't think I have ever heard Shawn commentate so it would be interesting to hear. He certainly has lead the 'pool life'. I'll tune in tonight and see for myself.

Spell it right lenny; john rousseau

I am a friend of lenny, mark, wpba and pool

thanks for the enlightenment. I didn't realize that a challenge match such as this would involve wpba fees. Were there wpba fees involved when sarah played monica in the all around championship, which also was put on dvd?

These events are simply great and the streaming has really changed the way pool is watched, making events much more global. It is ridiculious that the people putting all these efforts into streaming can't turn a profit. Maybe with more big names like jeanette getting involved it will evolve into something profitable eventually.

Also, who is john roussue? I have never heard his name around pool before.

Haha, John, I never have misspelled your name! As for the comments about sanctioning fees and whatnot, this is what I heard from people whom I trust and respect, perhaps my sources are wrong and I apologize if the information is false. I do believe the players sign media contracts and the WPBA is entitled to a share of stuff like DVDs, am I wrong about this also?

I was trying to get footage of this match to make DVDs of but with the issues that kept popping up it seemed unlikely and more of a headache then it was worth, plus 10 ahead truly could go on for a very long time as we all saw and have no winner. Good match and playing by both ladies. As for the WPBA I think that there organization is great and the men need something like that.
