Too Late!!!!!....

That would be like me not wanting people to think I am a Dick Head!!!!!!! ..................(JK)

Can your dick head grasp sarcasm? lol

BTW:
Why is being a dick head so bad? Who doesn't like dicks? Besides lesbians, I mean. :D

If I want chalk ...

I just buy it from my cuemaker here locally for $3 for a box of Master chalk.

I always try to use Masters, but I have noticed the quality has seem to gone
down.

There is a chalk that comes with a yellow/black wrapper and a chalk called
Silver Cup.

I got a box of 12 cubes of Master chalk from Seybert's last month for $2.95...about a quarter each...pretty cheap if you get some other stuff too, to offset shipping costs. :p

You can buy a Gross (144 Peces) of Master from Mueller @ $16.95/Gross.

Yep and you can buy a case for around $75 and NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CHALK AGAIN IN YOUR LIFE! :p :p :p

After looking at the Platinum Billiards site i would have to say that I 100% agree with thier assessment. Advertiseing led me to believe that Silver Cup Tournament chalk had a slight edge over NTC, but i see it is the other way around. If you ask me i think Blue Diamond chalk is the best by far. I bought some in Vegas at $2.50 a cube, and with hours of play on it, it still seems like I've barely worn it. It also seems to grip at least as good as Master, but like i said it wears a little better. Anyone that has ever used blue diamond chalk, will tell you its the best.

Triangle is pretty good too, but it might be exactly the same as masters.

For those of you who have actually checked the difference, is there a real difference between cheap chalk (Wal-mart, etc.) and expensive chalk that pros use? Is there a noticable difference?

Also, if there is a difference, I would suspect that it would affect english, correct?

thanks, JED

Just use Masters.

Yeah dude, you better watch your tone. You're very argumentative today.

I see this thread is causing a little friction...get it?...chalk....friction... :p

Think 2.50 for a cube of Chalk is KRAZY, but I heard a RUMOR the Old Master Before the Flag on the Cube has sold to some for $50.00/CUBE?

Me too, Sherm. I don't seem to have as good a luck with it as I do the flag chalk. I only found the pre-flag a couple of weeks ago, though, when moving. I have used it only a couple of times since.

Silver Cup is one of the brands that we use over here in the u.k the other one is unicorn both are fantastic brands and do the job very well.

This is absolutely nutz. It's the same chalk as pre-flag. We just had this discussion a couple of months ago, didn't we?

The flag was put on by Tweeten (Skip Nemecek) in remembrance of 9-11. Nothing more, nothing less. That's from Skip's mouth, to my ear, to my keyboard, to the forum's eyes.

That's good to know. Thanks Fred. But while we are on the subject (and I know that THIS has probably been discussed as well), the craze around here now is to bake chalk in the oven for a while to get some of the moisture out, so it supposedly covers and works better. What is your opinion on this? Does it help?

Thanks,
Mike
