Question for cuemakers: How much does wrap influence hit?

The notion of hit gets discussed here often enough, but I wonder if wrap doesn't influence the sensation.

My latest cue (and last, if Mrs. 9BP has her way) features a McDermott leather wrap that feels great in my hand when I stroke, and great in my forearm and elbow when I hit. It's a very satisfying sensation, and not all cues have it, as most of you know.

Quite a unique question. It will be interesting to see the responses on this.........
 
I would think leather being thicker might muffle the feel a little but probably not enough to notice. I had the leather taken off my Lucasi and replaced with linen and I can't tell the difference. that's a nice McD cue. Bring it to Hanks and while you are enjoying a bottle of water on me maybe you will let me hit a few balls with it. And if I know when you are coming I will bring the legendary Lucasi.

The leather is thick, and tooled, which I think gives the McD a different feel. Anyway, lemme know.

In my opinion it doesn't influence anything except grip. The cues construction internally, the shaft taper, ferrule, and tip are the main factors that influence hit.
