JAM,

I was going to send a PM but I thought others might be interested.

This match clearly showed to me that Tony has a higher 1 pocket gear than anyone on the planet. When he is rolling, he can steamroll a top 3 player in the world.

Even with that said, I think it shocked a lot of people. I know you and Keith are close with Tony, was Keith surprised at all at this outcome?

Basically I would love to have Keiths synopsis of the match.

Hope all is well,
Ian

Keith was joyful at Tony's great win. He believes Tony prepared for it well beforehand. Another thing which may have gone in Tony's favor is he was performing in his beloved home State of California, where he had friends, good friends, and relatives in the audience pulling him in. That makes a huge difference when the crowd is pulling for you. It's like 24 karat magic in the air.

I'll ask Keith to write his thoughts later today when he wakes up. We are both so proud of Tony's great win. It could have gone either way, but Tony came out on top because he went for shots that others may have played safe. Tony has a good offensive game in one-hole. Dennis is a straight-shooting son of a gun, but he does not understand one-pocket strategy, IMO, as well as Tony. I'm sure there will be a rematch.

Great poster. Thanks to Daniel and POVPool for a great challenge match. This one will go down in the history books!

Another thing Keith mentioned was that Tony never let Dennis get out ahead of him the entire match, which is a huge head game to the player who is shooting from behind. Props go out to Dennis for making it close after being down so many games.

Thanks for the post JAM. Tony is certainly the most aggressive 1 pocket player I have ever seen. When a player can execute certain shots with such a high percentage of success, it becomes the right shot regardless of how aggressive. We always hear about how aggressive Ronnie was, I would be interested to hear Keith compare Ronnies game to Tony.

I believe dennis was ahead on day 4...not that tony 'let' that happen.

Incredible match. One for the books.

Was amar there? Had to be, right?

LOL Steamroll... really
Dennis is a guy that has beat numerous people giving up weight and even gambling and has won a few one pocket events.
A 2 game win with a lot of factors going his way doesn't constitute steamroll in any fashion.

Dennis played 4 days below his normal game and IMO never really got going. Tony played 4 days very strong and likely stroner than his normal game. The crazy shots excluded he ran balls great and came with a lot of banks and long shots with very few misses.
The rolls went Tonys way as well a few times and I am not sure why but Dennis kept leaving tony chances in games he had control of.

It was a great match but no where near a steamroll. I would like to see a rematch

Oh yeah and i gotta say the stream was awesome!

I should have been more clear. I was in no way suggesting the whole match was a steam roll. I possibly even still like Dennis in a rematch.

When Tony was rolling though, as with day1, I would call it a steam roll.

day one was a blitzkrieg, then it morphed into trench warfare fortified with cannon and tanks
