Question For John Schmidt ?

Hey John,

Out of curiosity, since the first time you ran a 100. How many times since then would you say you have done it ?

And with that in mind, at your level how do you know that you are in gear based on the runs that you are puting together ?

Steve -- Obviously I'm not John, but I thought I'd give some information.

About 20 years ago I went to a show/demonstration by Grady Mathews at a pool room near me. He was asked what his practice routine was. He said he practiced 14.1 every night, and didn't quit until he had run 100 balls. In other words, Grady could do it daily at that point. I imagine most of the top echelon of 14.1 players could do that.

I would love to hear an answer on this question as well. I heard quite a few years ago he would run 100 before leaving his house to go match up almost daily...Maybe he can confirm this as well....

I bet some players ( like John) run a 100 balls as often as I eat Wheaties for breakfast.

Some years back, John was staying on long island and he would come in and run balls everyday and wouldn't stop until he hit 100. And let me tell you I got to spend alot of time with John, getting to witness this very regularly. Amazing doesn't even explain how great it was.

Is this still part of your routine Johnny, and like I said at what point do you know you are in gear ?

When do you feel good about your practice session? Is it when you hit 100, or 70's or what?

Otherwise, he would be all over this.

Don't get mad at him if he doesn't answer immediately but he has a lot of irons in the fire.
