Local place just got a used Soren Sogard table, I'm so excited!!! Will be the only carom table here in Jacksonville and anywhere nearby, other than some very shoddy ones in the Little Vietnam area of town...
Owner is having his normal pool table crew set it up, I'm assuming the basic assembly of frame, slate, leveling, etc. is very similar to a pool table.
But what's different? What type of cloth should he buy, what options are there these days, and any pros/cons as far as playability, price, etc.? Anything special that needs to be done that a pool installer might not know in order to make the table play as good as possible?
Looking forward SO much to playing again, would love to travel up to Savannah for one of those monthly tournaments if I can get back to a respectable game again. I'm like a little kid seeing a new candy store open up!!! Might be bad for my work production though...
Thanks guys for any insight,
Scott
