Question on tip replacement

i've seen people taper the tip, to account for future mushrooming, but the base is always flush with the ferrule
 
I cut a small taper on my tips, so they mushroom flush,

but a tip is always, always trimmed perfect to the ferrule
 
Some tips do consistently mushroom and can be compensated by cutting the side of the tip at a slight bevel, but the base should still be flush to the ferrule. Done this way, as the tip compresses and spreads slightly, it will then be even with the ferrule. Remember, mushrooming typically happens at the curved side of the tip.

I discussed with him that I had someone else put a new tip on because I had stopped by a couple of times and he was never in. And didn't like the tip so I came back to him to get what i was used too. So if he didn't like me going to the other guy, why on earth would he "put it to me"? Seems the smart thing to do was to do the best job possible so I would not have a reason to ever go back to the other guy, but he didn't do that did he.

I only came on here to get advice about a tip replacement that i thought was odd, and to make sure I was not going to cause any damage to my cue. But some people have decided to turn it into something else. For those that gave me advice and said that it was sub par work, thank you for your help.

not saying it would be the right thing to do but,some people are funny to loyalty(or lack of)

I just had to make a decision NOT to work on a guy's cues because he bad mouthed me in front of a whole group of my customers when my glue failed on a tip(which I have NO control over) that he was beating on the floor after a missed shot!!

FYI and BTW:::I agree ''IF" you dont like it have it done elsewhere I dont leave the tip smaller than a ferrule on any cue....I leave a taper on some tips though so they mushroom out to even
