Question: Was Jeanette Lee dress proper by Tournament rule or should she Forfeit?

See pictures, not the best. Read the two Links, and you be the judge.

Like to hear from Cuetable, Bob Jewette, or Ira Lee. Anyone else.

I agree that her attire is not appropriate.. But I think we as men should not complain.. ex.. My job has a dress code.. shirt, shoes .. (proper buisness attire) the women wear somewhat short skirts high heels open sandals.. low cut shirts.. and im sure absolutly no man has complained. I know I wont :D .. How come I dont here anyone complaining about Mens Pool.. I for one, feel that they should go back to a suit or vest like the 3 cushion men do. it would add some prestige to the game, like it once had. That being said... you may say that I just contradicted myself.. I did.. but thats life.. Women like to see men in suits.. Men like to see Women in sexy attire.. Thats life :D lets make everone happy :)

Seven, Then you have Mercedes Gonzales - who was dress proper. SL Tournament rule without exceptions.

And she can do that if she so chooses.. I got a question.. if there are no exceptions...why did they let her play? maybe because they dont mind a little eye candy? maybe...perhaps :) Pretty sexy women get special treatment...thats a part of life.. it may not be fair...but im not gonna complain about it :)

The answer to that question, I will Leave for Charlie Brown, Ira Lee, or Bob Jewette to answer. Maybe the players will have to complain. But when you get to the Tournament see if you can get an answer. A sexy lady will away be sexy.

not that I truly care one way or another, but it is the same in the WPBA - the dress code is defined, however, certain players do not have to abide by it - if the tournament director doesn't enforce the dress code, there is nothing to be done about it. besides, what are they going to do, send away one of the best known players because of a spaghetti strapped top???

Yes.

Here is the pertinent paragraph:

"All players will be required to wear a dress shirt of any color, black slacks, black shoes, formal-wear tie and vest. Moreover, all players must arrive on time for their matches. Both rules will be strictly enforced without exceptions, as follows:
? Any player without the proper attire will forfeit the match."

The underscore is from the original document. What part of "without exceptions" don't they understand?

Her dress is classy and decent. I have only heard complements around.

However, I agree it might not follow the dress code. It really is up to the tournament director to enforce the rule.

I wonder why they didnt enforce it? read my above posts for reasons.
Rules are made to be broken.. "for special people" Jeanette is a special person... her attendance at this tournament is publicity for 3 cushion.
Isnt that whats important here?

Here Jeanette Lee at the 2006 Debry City 3 Cushion USBA Qualification Tournament
http://www.professorqball.com/images/dcc/jeanette1.jpg

I also noticed all her matches were on Jeanette Lee table- wait a minute that was table #6 or Main Tournament Table. Oh well New Day ,New Matches.

Yes, she is a special person, but then so are the other players. As is promotion of 3 Cushion.

I think this is a case of the rules lagging behind the times. They used to require full tuxes in the old straight pool tournaments, now it's not as strict (they still have some formal wear requirements, but more because it makes the men look good).

I can't think of a single way that enforcing this rule will help anyone. Her dress isn't offensive by most people's standards, so you're not going to make any prudes happy because there just aren't any in the pool room.

You're not going to make fans happy to see one of the best players screwed over by a stupid rule.

Her opponent might be happy to get a free W, but I think if anyone wants a win against jeanette lee... let them do it at the table, not on paper.

I couldn't see the photos clearly, but I'd like Jeanette to play in any tournament I put on. A beautiful lady and a class act. Oh, and she can play a little too!

I asked the tournament director this specific question yesterday.

He says the dress code is for men only. If there is any more question you may direct your concern to him in person.

Hope this clarify the confussion.... :)

:: Jay, there are a few piciture of her in CueTable Public Library : Billiard Art Gallery

Billiard Baby

Shouldn't there be a minimum age to participate in this forum? Jeanette Lee has done more for the sport of billiards than almost anyone in the game. She plays all games as she truly loves the sport including banging balls around in 3 cushion. Her sex appeal along with other WPBA members is why pool has been shown on TV for many years while the men, until just recently, just try to stay organized yet get on TV. Dragon Promotions is making a huge effort to catch up but the ladies led by attractive and talented players Lorrie John Jones, Ewe Lawrence, Allison Fisher, Jennifer Barretta and Jeanette Lee the "Black Widow". There are many more but those were the leaders in the world of women's pool which led to ESPN regular coverage. Right or wrong the world likes attractive people although I realize at your age, there are probaby only animals in the books and TV shows mommy lets you watch.

Jeanette's billiard participation will help attendance, attract media, encourage other women to play 3 cushion to grow that great game as witnessed on ESPN recently. Jeanette was there too to promote the sport and was a judge in the billliard trick shot contest.

I have been to almost all of the WPBA tournaments the last 4 years and Jeanette always dresses classy while displaying her sexuality as do the other attractive ladies on the tour. As most male viewers are heterosexual, sex appeal may help to attract them to the telecasts but the lady's skill keeps them around. Women watch to envy the talents of todays top players and learn from the matches and the commentary. Jeanette, has parlayed her talents into fame and those of us who love pool should be thanking her for the wonderful concern she has for the sport and quit trying to find something wrong with her.

These rules are outdated and have little thought of woman contestants competing and I doubt any contestant in the event has a problem with her outfits or anything about her. If they do, they may fall victim to the Black Widow's trap.

im not gonna lie..i dont watch women pool for their play...i just watch to see if any of them look ok, not cuz of their play...if it wasnt for some of their looks...(there are not to many of them) i woudnt watch!!!

she brings her name to the venue so does it matter.

here's another way to look at it......what if she wore a more "appropriate" outfit,,,say a woman's version of men's attire, buttoned up/vest/bow/cumberbund. i honestly think that would have looked very cool besides giving a nod to the sport.

like female bullfighters...you don't see them wearing low cut tops, yet they still look very nice.

Collection Guru, my avatar is my granddaughter. Myself I'm male 59 and been playing pool since the middle Fifty.

I respect Jeanette Lee as a Player [I believe she competed in all game of Billiard, Snooker been a ???.] and as a promoter of this game I love.

The question is Dress code stated by the SL Tournament, in the USBA Rule, and UMB Rule. I noticed Mercedes Gonzalez [other female] is Following the Dress code. Even Sang Lee 's daughter follow the dress code when she was playing in the Junior 3 Cushion Tournament.

With a Women 3 Cushion Tournament been held at the Debry City Classic 2008. This issue should be clarity.

I don't really understand what it is you're complaining about. If you have a problem with her then don't look!!

Instead of picking on such a beautiful and talented person, why don't you appreciate what she can do on the table and maybe you'll learn a thing or two to improve your game..
