Have ask Nath before and here is his reply:
The video magazine was discontinued after issue 1 due to lack of interest. It sold less than 20 copies.....
Thanks guys.
In short, this is one of those unfortunate situations where someone presents an idea, everyone loves it and says they can't wait to buy it once it's made, and then upon release everyone does the famous "looks cool, I'll be sure to buy one of those later" (which means likely never).
I spent months designing the template for issue #1 (graphics, style, sound bed, etc) so that each additional issue would be quick to make. Thousands were spent on gear and travel expenses to fly to events, and hundreds of hours were put into editing and graphics. All out of my own pocket.
The result: 20 copies sold.
I had tons of advertising ready to launch (press releases, online advertising, email lists, and even a deal with one of the main US pool leagues), and yet, the initial response to Issue #1 was so unenthusiastic that committing a year to the project seemed like career suicide. As such, I just decided to abandon the whole project.
Issue #2 and Issue #3 are both shot and half edited, and although I feel it's some of the best content ever (especially Earl's segment), it wasn't even worth finishing (for financial reasons). I do pool related work because I love it, but I can't afford to lose money on projects anymore.
I'm contemplating editing all 3 issues into a "behind the scenes of professional billiards" documentary, but even then I doubt anyone would buy it. Doesn't seem like a very productive way to spend my time.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who did support the project. I got some great feedback from a few of you (especially you Bob). It was fun while it lasted.
Issue #1 (and a few clips from Issue #2) can be found on my Youtube channel (in HD): http://www.youtube.com/user/RunoutMedia
Hi Nathan;
This is not going to be a pep talk, as you have never struck me as the type of guy that would require such. Rather, I will simply share three examples (from a much longer list) of m-o-n-u-m-e-n-t-a-l failures that everyone should recognize and we certainly know how things ended for them.
Your frustration, I must say, pales in comparison to these three.
I have always been thoroughly impressed with the content and quality of your productions. Being a business owner now for 23 years, I can tell you, first hand, that there has been a lot of 'tweaking' required along the way and even now, there is always usefullness in exploring better ways to do things.
In business, it is rare for success to be achieved without encountering some degree of failure.
You are gaining valuable knowledge on certain aspects of your business that have more potential than others.
Keep tweaking!
Some of Walt Disney’s Failures and setbacks included:
• Multiple bankruptcies.
• Being told no for years as he tried to build a Theme Park.
• Being laughed at when introducing a talking mouse cartoon to studio executives.
A relatively long list of Abraham Lincoln’s Failures and setbacks included:
• 1831 – He lost his job.
• 1832 – He was defeated in a run for Illinois State Legislature.
• 1833 – He failed in business.
• 1835 – His sweetheart died.
• 1836 – He had nervous breakdown.
• 1838 – He was defeated in run for Illinois House Speaker.
• 1843 – He was defeated in run for nomination for U.S. Congress.
• 1848 – He lost re-nomination.
• 1849 – He was rejected for land officer position.
• 1854 – He was defeated in run for U.S. Senate.
• 1856 – He was defeated in run for nomination for Vice President.
• 1858 – Again he was defeated in run for U.S. Senate
And, finally, remember some years back when Coca Cola decided to offer their "New Coke"?![]()
Best,

Good luck in your other projects.
Keep tweaking!
Keep up the good work Nathan, fellow canadian!
Nathan, you're a very creative person and it's truly a shame that your creativity, devotion to detail, and technical excellence is not paying off for you. I know you love the game and, although the money just isn't in it, I hope you'll continue to explore other ventures in this arena. Good luck in whatever projects you undertake.
