Joel does a great job with leather, on his Qs. Why not ask him, to put the wrap on?...JER
 
it might hurt the value to some people.some people are very picky about details like that.to others it might not matter,
 
Rewrap question - cue value

If you are concerned with the cue value, why not just go back to the original cue maker (OCM)?

I have 2 cues that I went to others to wrap, and some would definately consider the value may have dropped. Still, if I wanted to sell the cues, I could still go back to the OCM and have another wrap installed just to upgrade the value of the cues. You could still do the same.

Question is are you getting a new wrap for your use, or with prospects of selling the cue with the new wrap. If it is for your use, go to who you want and get what you want to shoot with the cue.

I bought a cue from Quality_Cues and he went back to the OCM to get a new wrap and cue / shafts completely refinished. Seemed excessive to me at the time, but that got me a like new cue with all work done the the original cue maker. Pretty smart.
 
On that high of a dollar cue, it will hurt the value if Joel does not do the work. You might ask him if he will install your leather for you and send him the leather you want on it.
 
i think with a real nice skin,maybe Elephant ear,that the value may actually increase if done perfectly and i do hear Kenny does them perfectly.i am sure Joel gets pretty good dough for his leather.
 
Anyone but Joel changing that wrap will hurt the cues value. Personally, I would not change it at all. I think a cue keeps its value far better if it is kept in original and unchanged condition from the day it was finished. JMO.

Have stingray or elephant ear put on it.

Joel said that the only leather that he feels is the best is the leather that was used on Cadillacs. Don't remember what year but I think it was in the 60's. He bought a roll of it and it is black. He said it is not available anymore so he can't get any other color.
