Quick-clean? How often?

Is it safe to use quick-clean on a weekly basis? I play about 15 hrs a wk on my home table and I usually vacuum and then use quick-clean about once a wk. I've only started doing this about 3 weeks ago. But I wonder if its not gonna affect the way my cloth plays. I seem to remember someone here posting it slowed down his table significantly. Can anyone share their experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Personally, I don't think it is ever safe to use Quick Clean, just read the ingredients and safety warnings on the can.

Never.

I bought some and use it on my table before recovering. It seemed to stain it. Thought it was becasue the cloth was Los and too dirty.

After I had the table covered with 860 Simonis I tried it on a scrap piece. It also stained it.

Live and learn. Wasted $50 on buying the whole kit.

I'm convinced chalk off slowed my table. Quick clean seemed worse, but I only tried it once. I started brushing instead and notice some improvement.

I've never tried it so I can't slam it, but the reason I've not used anything on my table is it just seems to me that anything that might leave a residue will just attract dirt, chalk, lint and stuff that will slow it down and maybe produce some ugly rolls.

Again though, I've never used the stuff.

Wow, what a bummer :( I really like how my table looks after I use it. it almost looks new. But its not worth it if its gonna affect play or durability. Thanks so much for the responses.

How should I clean my cloth then? Just vacuum?

One problem I experienced with Quick-Clean - I think everybody has the same problem - is that after you're halfway done with the can the foam tends to spray in big glops which wet the table and can leave a stain. They give directions on how to spray to avoid the glops but I have never been successful in avoiding them.

I recommend vacuuming and following up with a very slightly damp cloth.

steam?

can you steam clean pool table cloth? then hot iron it afterwards to dry it out?

i'd assume that ironing the cloth after it was damp would shrink it a bit, it'd probably play faster.

good for me!

I have been using it for years... once a week ... tourny blue - 860 cloth..

never had an issue... cleans great... never had a stain.. always OVER sprayed.. I just used their brush and no stains (it looks like it might but if you wait a little while .. no stain).... maybe I am lucky...

I also use Simonis's "static brush" daily..

I have used it for years also. Never had an issue with it. We have cleaned the US Open The DCC and the Expo 2 or 3 times a day for years with no issues. It was trouble with a canner one time and yes sometimes it will spit a little glob but I have never seen it stain the table. I am sure if anyone ever had trouble with any of this product all you would have to do is call David about it and he will do everything in his power to make it right. JMO

A slightly damp cloth used to just wipe the cloth down after a long session will pick up a good amount of chalk dust.

I agree the quick clean doesnt stain, the spots do seem to fade. But because you can see all the huge globs, you know only those spots got treated. Then it leaves the table wet, too. I dont see whats so hard about a fine mist nozzle. Most people recommend just vacuuming anyway.
