Quote by the manager at Dave & Busters

There's a Brunswick Zone just a couple miles from my house. I stopped in there once...all excited that there would be a couple of GCs.

It had one beat-up Valley BB in the cafe area. But hey, one of the house cues had a tip!

I think Dave & Busters is on to a good business model. I just hope they can continue to justify having pool.

Dave and Busters is way more interested in renting the tables to private parties than they are about renting the tables by the hour...I know that for a fact, as I helped Donny aka SDBilliards get into the Dave & Busters in Orange, CA. to fix the rock hard cushions on all 13 of the tables in that location, there's a story behind how I got the job for Donny...but I only went after the location AFTER being there at the time a table mechanic from Triangle Billiards was there recovering a couple of pool tables at the time. I walked up to him and asked him what he was doing...piecing back together the broken up pieces of cushions as he was wrapping the cloth around to staple it in place on the bottom of the rails:eek:...I point blank asked him why isn't he replacing the cushions...they're broken in pieces? He replied that they "Dave & Busters" management was to cheap to pay for that kind of work so, he's not replacing the cushions!!!...I said to myself.....hmmmm, we'll see about that...LMAO That was on a Thursday, by Monday...the account was Donny's...and he was schedualed to start replacing cushions right away, in which later he ended up with 3 more Dave & Busters in the area as well. So, I wouldn't bet on the management being so dumb as to not know what's going on in a Dave & Busters when it comes to taking care of their pool equipment...I'd look further to blaming those that are responsible for actually getting PAID to take care of the equipment...and the advice THEY are giving...or the LACK of it;)

Neither Dave, nor Buster, will miss the annual $100 likely lost due to not having the OP's patronage.

I never understood going some place that doesn't cater to a specific need and demanding/expecting something that 99.9% of the customer base doesn't need or doesn't care about.

So true, but nowadays many think ''in their own mind'' if a business model doesn't meet their expectations 100% that something is wrong. I call that ignorance, immaturity, lack of parenting and on and on. It's no different that another post where the cuemakers agenda and the OP's thread rant, were somewhat exposed when another realized the OP made sure all his cues were hung out to dry like a cue maker ready to turn it down another mill, and wait. Reality and click of the mouse are Night and Day different. To think in another manner, I'd look closely at that persons parenting skills or lack of. Miley cyrus getting a motorcycle for her 21st BD present. I'll give her 12months before she goes down hard, and if she doesn't get killed we'll see allot of Scabs and this and that. True motorcycle riders understand the importance of NEVER taking ones eyes off the road, she is 180 degrees away from that thought process. I just hope she's ok....all cycle owners eventually go down one time.

Dave and Busters is the place that got me into pool. They obviously have some place in billiards if we want to grow the sport.

Every pool table in the world, when you first play on it can have a similar effect., I started with clay ball sets, had no clue there were phenolic, game was more impt.

If I were looking at a tennis court it looks like a tennis court. Nothing more, nothing less. If my tennis playing sister looked a tennis court she would notice if the lines were faded, the net was a 1/2 inch too low, there is some gravel that needs to be swept away, etc.

That is how 99.9 percent of the world views a pool table. Hey look its a pool table. The Dave & Busters crowd want to play a few games in between throwing a miniature basket ball through a hoop and making out with their date. Nothing wrong with that.
