R.I.P. JimBo

Jim is a standup guy who says what he means and means what he says. No Jeckyl and Hyde about it. No internet hero about it, he is the same in person. He is what he is and that is a pretty good guy.
The moderators misstepped in banishing him even for the period of 3 months. Even people who may have felt insulted by him are the losers by his banishment in that his knowledge has been banished with him.

BTW, I think "banish" is a better word for this than "ban". He is banished from the AZBilliards forum, but ban would imply that all AZBilliards participants are banned from interaction with him.

It isn't unfortunate, I mean unless you bumped your head when you feel outta your chair. A good laugh is good for you. :rolleyes:
 
I will miss Jimbo.I think he was a little harsh at times but he spoke his mind.We will all miss some of his knowledg of cues.I did not always agree with him or the ways he put things but I wil miss reading his post.Good luck and I for one will miss you.
 
Might I suggest that everybody who wants Jimbo back sooner rather than later make it known. Add a line to your signature similar to the one I added. Use you're own wit, and if it is really witty, I just might steal it and replace mine.

I believe that in the post in question (too hard to find now), Jimbo told someone he read at a 4th grade level. Pretty G-rated stuff, there.

Incidentally, there's a somewhat amusing end to this. The person JimBo's comment was originally directed towards eventually wrote this: "his [JimBo's] initial post to me yesterday was pretty insulting, basically telling me I needed to take a 4th Grade reading class, inferring [sic] I was an idiot & of course the low post count bias." (Emphasis added)

Of course, by saying that, JimBo was implying that he is an idiot, not inferring it. Everyone can draw their own inferences on the subject.

Disclaimer: I'm generally against grammar policing on forums, but it nevertheless struck me as funny, given the original context of JimBo's "insult."

I fixed it...it was meant to infer that is was unfortunte that JimBo got banned.

I am really going to miss the big purple lug. No, no. Not Barney. Jimbo. :D

BTW, and no one asked, but this banning sucks. Just like DM and Rudedog. IMHO.

Hmmm, I guess my dry wit even goes over your head. Don't feel bad, I'm still searching for somebody who recognizes when I tell a joke.
 
I don't post very much on AZ (to afraid I might not dot an i or cross a t) but, I've been a part of public forums for years, even back during the Prodigy days.

The problems with AZ isn't Jimbo or other people that have been booted. The problem is the moderation of the these forums. People have opinions and people will disagree on everything. That's how it works. If people aren't allowed to get into a heated discussion now and again, then it's censorship. For the fear of being banned, posters will soon stop disagreeing and then where will any informative discussion come from?

I've been a member of a several different forums and AZ moderators have been the topic of several of the forums recently, and not in a positive way.

Who moderates the moderaters?

I think out of all the GOOD members who have been banned JimBo will be missed the most. It really is a sad day for a forum when you get banned for telling it like it is.

Contrary to popular opinion, sucking up will do you a lot of good... lol. Maybe you guys can use this 3 months to figure out your posting in "Dark Orchid" in stead of PURPLE. lol. Oh well, you won't have JimBo to blaime for that now, will you? lol, lol,!!!

I didn't read the thread in question, but I agree with what most others have said about Jimbo. I read most of his posts and agreed with most of them - I also knew that he thought I was an ignorant idiot, as he has used both of those words to describe me, but I still attempted to support him when I thought people were overreacting to his posts (and I realize also Jim, that you couldn't care less). Jim is a 'type' that is in a minority on this board, but is needed;however, if everyone who "knows more about cues than 90% of the people here" ripped the other 10% a new one with regularity, this board would be a shambles.

Perhaps he should have been banned for that thread - I didn't read it, so I don't know. But I can say with certainty that there are others who, unlike Jim, do not combine their personal attacks and insults with any knowledge that would be useful to this community, and those posters (one in this thread) have somehow survived. Doesn't seem right.
 
So this is just a 90 day suspension right? Will miss Jimbos' opinions and knowlege on all things "cue". Won't miss the abrasive and sometimes combative ego.;)

Yeah, look at Mawissa calling me the C-word on these forums when I don't even know her she calls Eydie and Timberly by another insult word. Does she get publicly warned? No. The post gets deleted or modified. That C gets to keep posting. WHY??
