THIS IS THE ONLY CUE OF IT'S KIND THAT I'VE EVER SEEN, AND THE WOOD USED TO DO IT EXPLAINS WHY. NORMALLY TO DO AN ALL EBONY FULLSPLICE WOULD RESULT IN A 25 OUNCE CUE, BUT NOT WITH THIS ONE. THE CUE WAS BUILT BY JERRY RAUENZAHN USING EBONY THAT HAD BEEN DRYING FOR OVER 30 YEARS. SUPER DARK EBONY FOR THE FOREARM, AND THE BACKEND. MAPLE, BROWN, TEAL, AND PURPLE TITLIST TRIBUTE VENEERS. PILOTED IVORY 5/16 14 THREAD JOINT, AND AN IVORY RAMBOW RING AT THE BUTT. CUE INCLUDES (2) SHAFTS. SHAFT 1 HAS AN IVORY FERRULE, WEIGHS 4.2 OUNCES AND IS 12.95mm. SHAFT 2 HAS A BLACK HORN FERRULE, AND A KAMUI BLACK TIP, GIVING THE CUE A COOL LOOK WHEN PUT TOGETHER. SHAFT 2 IS 3.9 OUNCES AND 12.95mm. BUTT OF THE CUE WEIGHS 16.4 OUNCES. CUE IS IN PLAYED, BUT SUPER CLEAN CONDITION.

John saw the cue at the expo and seemed to really like it. It's something you never figure to see because of the weight issue but Jerry pulled it off nicely.
 
I think I'll buy some ebony this weekend and start hanging it to dry so that in 35 years I might be able to get something this stunning. :wink:
