Racking At The "Stone" A Joke

Some people at baseball feel the pitcher's mound should be moved farther away.

Soooo...this could be an interesting innovation....
Magic Rack....balls set in a predetermined pattern....
Break Box....one diamond from the end rail...one diamond wide.
....and every round, the location of the diamond is moved to either side of center.

....and Shane has to break one-handed....

what are your thoughts on CJ's idea to push out after the break?

Rack your own, no 9ball on breaks. Each round TD puts a starting spot on the table to break from. Everyone breaks from same spot which changes based on the round. Players would learn on their own time to break from all over the place to be prepared. :)

I don't like it....too artificial....it makes a good break and a bad break equal....
....a player should be rewarded for hitting the balls better.

Nobody makes Ronnie O'Sullivan play safe when he gets to 30.
....I wanna see 8-packs

good points :)

i've never watched push out pool so i really don't know if i'd like it or not.

thanks for the insight!

This new game doesn't have a "roll out" after the break

I agree with your points. However, please give me the benefit of the doubt.

This new game doesn't have a "roll out" (not like you'd think anyway) after the break," it's far more than that simple change.

This game has components that have not been considered, and it's main strength is the entire package that can be marketed effectively to the non pool players as well as the most knowledgeable.

We have a few things in common, CJ.....one of them is golf.
I was a scratch golfer, as a teenager, on my home course...not too long...
...and I knew every blade of grass on a first name basis.
But on a championship course, I was NOT a scratch golfer....
..when you move the tees back, it separates the good from the great.

So when you shrink the break box and move it back, a lot of players
that break 'good enough' aren't going to like it....
...and at the pro level of this game, it is rightfully elitist.

In one foul 9-ball, I think we both agree that a 'push back' option
should be available.

But I don't want to see anything that levels the playing field....
....this aint the APA.

I have mixed thoughts about one or two foul nine-ball.....
....I'll share it in one of your other threads.

The very first priority is the preference of the player. Pool players LIVE to break and run out. I am talking about players of all levels. Break and push ain't no fun!

I tried this in my room and I could not get anyone to go beyond a few racks of it. Players rule.

Leave the magic rack on the table the whole match and rack from whereever it lies when a rack is finished. That will add some randomness to things. ;)

You appreciate great shots, advanced strategies and strategic battles on the table.

I have always respected your thoughts, suggestions and ideas. Without ever meeting you I can tell we would enjoy hanging out and swapping stories (don't worry, I'm not near as talkative in person) ;)

With that said, I believe you will endorse the format of this new game. You appreciate great shots, advanced strategies and strategic battles on the pool table. The nature of this game automatically brings this out and even more. It also has a built in element that allows the players to interact verbally in a way that has rarely been seen in the past.

We haven't re-invented the wheel, on the contrary, we simply blended the best qualities of all pocket billiard games.
