Racking solution? (not templates)

There are a couple threads about rack templates, but I have an idea that might speed up the match.

Loser racks, the winner inspects the rack and has the option of making the loser break if he doesn't like the rack.

No re-racking. No soft breaks or safety breaks.

Lets see, keep it the same broke way that it has been for decades.... Don't think so. A better way was finally developed, use it! Thats like saying, lets give up diamond tables and go back to crap.

Use the templates if you have them. If you don't have them, penalize the slugsters by making them break.

I like the way I've seen it done in some weekly tournaments I've played in:

Rack your own and if you make the game ball on the break it spots up.

I'm with Johnny P on this one.....

giving your opponent the opportunity to put their hands on your rack is the MAIN issue IMO over the last 20 years. if they touch your wifes rack, OR your next 9ball rack......both are sentences to the death march IMO! :)

rack your own, and alternating rack have helped. The Sardo, and mechanical placebos have soothed the pain of the slug, but here we are STILL discussing the preferences of getting the sweet tight rack we all desire.

Maybe, a slug here n there keep us on our guard. Maybe trusting the guy we are trying rob......gives us a warm feeling that the brotherhood of pool hustlers will continue for the next generation....and those of us lucky enough to remember the last great pool boom...(TCOM)....will be the next "old dude" or unbeatable killer of the great fraternity of ball rollers.

sorry to hijack this thread, but the seemingly small issue of "a good rack" cuts deep in my neck of the woods...

Delta 13 rack.

Delta 13 rack. Buy it once, tight racks for a lifetime. Lots of flavor of the months starting to pop up.
And I like your idea, op.

It's a cute idea but really, the guy shooting is in the driver's seat. I'd rather take a whack at a bad rack than surrender control to the other guy. Often those small gaps in a rack lead to weird stuff like moving 9 balls.
