You mentioned that Earl verbally attacked you while you were practicing next to him, and you were almost in tears. What exactly did he say, and why?? Did you report this to Deno?

Basically, Earl and I were on 2 adjoining tables. He came up to me and asked me if I was the girl that wrote the articles for a newspaper. I said I did write a monthly IPT article for On The Wire billiard paper, but I couldn't figure out where he was going with this.
I said I did post on a billiard forum though, and he said, "Yeah, that must be it! A friend told me you said something bad about me!"
Well, I may have given my opinion before (and this only confirms it), but I told him that I was 3rd in rep points on the forum and you probably don't get that by bashing people. In fact, I feel I am the voice of reason in a lot of squabbles and am the negotiator. I felt he probably had the wrong person.
He didn't let it go and attacked me, saying another player shouldn't be bashing another player in public (what was he doing to me???
) but on another level I was flattered he was calling me another player, lol.Anyway, I was trying to hit balls, as I only had another 5 minutes to warm up before matches started. He PULLED me away and wanted me to look at his table, talking all the while. I turned back to my table, addressing the cueball, and he picked up the cueball, saying if you want to write about something, why don't you write about all the match fixing from Vegas and putting the cueball over the line for the break (while he was demonstrating).
Someone returned my movie camera to me on it's monopod and the audience said I should hit Earl over the head with it. Earl turned back to his table and I mockingly raised it to whack him, and the audience laughed.
But inside, it was not a good thing to have to deal with right before my match.
He did the same thing to Sarah Ellerby, asking her if she was the girl that won the qualifier (confusing her with Jasmin) and he doesn't even recognize any of the women.
Deno actually read the forum where I mentioned the incident and asked me about it. Earl got fined for not wearing a button-down shirt under his sweater, so I feel vindicated.
If anyone wants to go through my 5 million posts and find where I really bashed Earl, I will publicly apologize, but he will have to too!
Linda, I sent you a PM. I feel horrible and I sincerely apologize if he confused you with me. FWIW, I would have hit him with the camera. It would have made great TV.

You are a bright woman and certainly don't need me to tell you what to do, but, FWIW, ignore him. We all know your intent, and we all know his.
I'd have taught him some manners right there on the spot.
First I'd have karate chopped him in the throat.
Second I'd buckle both his knees with my foot.
Third I'd grind all ten fingers under my heals.
If that would not teach him then I'd have to get serrious

I've been wondering that for years. Why hasn't someone just drug him outa the pool room and beat the living crap outa him for mouthing off? My guess it's happen more then once but no one talks about it.
I'm with you I'd love to hear a story or 2 of someone shutting him up.
Not many pro players would wanna fistfight with Earl. He's an athlete and has been in top physical shape for a looooong time. I heard that Earl is harmless and wouldn't hurt a fly, he just likes verbal fighting. But usually the people that 'would never hurt a fly' are the people that would beat the living crap out of you if you tried to fight them.
I'm sorry to hear this Linda! Well his does it to all the women! I believe that he is an autistic narcist.... and you can't blame those people can ya!!?? 
You just have to stand above it even though i think i would have a problem with that myself aswell!! If this is bashing him around... he can cool his anger on me instead as on the players next time! I'll be happy just to stay smiling at him!!

You crack me up. We actually had a "contest" about what to print on the shirts for the mosconi-cup after the Nick vd Berg incident.
Earl the Squirrel and Earl the Girl Dickland were my favorites.

Thanks everyone for your show of support. I am totally over it and take it for what it was worth...someone in his own delusional world. His mixture just has not kicked in yet or needs to be adjusted.

If I were his friend, I'd take him immediately to a neurologist and get his Dopamine levels checked. They obviously need adjusting.
