Radial tap question

Back when I started buying my cue repair tools, I bought a Radial tap from Atlas. I have a very bad memory due to brain surgery and now for the life of me, I can't remember if I purchased the standard or undersize tap.
There are no markings on the tap.

I believe that I may have got the standard fit with the idea that I would use it for radial connecting screws but I'm not sure.

I measured the minor diameter last night the best I could and it was approx.312 if that helps.
That probably doesn't help as maybe I should have measured the major.

If someone has one and can measure theirs and give me an idea which one I have, I'd appreciate it.

And also, if I do happen to have the standard tap, is it ok to use it for joint pins or will it become too sloppy in time?

My standard also has no markings. Outside diameter .375. My undersized is simply marked "UNDERSIZED". Outside diameter .371. I bet yours is standard.
 
I have two undersize and a regular. The undersize is labeled 'undersize' and the regular isn't.

One thing you could do is tap out a junk piece and see how it fits.

At least you have an excuse - same behavior here, but no brain surgery! :shocked2: :D
 
I checked mine Terry, it says undersized. I agree with the others, you have the regular size.

The standard tap works well for installing the pin in the butt, the undersized tap works well for the shaft threads. Some might feel both are necessary, some may not feel that way.

The standard also works better if you use phenolic inserts.
 
OK, I have the standard then.
It will be ok for shaft threads too, I'm hoping.
