Raffles in sperate section

Swift action from them to end the raffles would have been the case if there was any concern.

assming they are aware of the laws reguarding such transactions which vary alot from state to state, Its a bad plan to have a seperate forum for them it would look like an endorsement of such activity, just like if they opened up a forum for betting on matches-that would be a huge problem fast. The fact that there are bets originated here between memebers of this site is bad enough.

The raffels will dry up soon enough, the bad economy is causing creative ways to make $$, and who can blame them, I like the idea of them and I dont think they should be stoped here unless there are 20 of them going at anyone time, then it would be a risk for AZ its a numbers game, when you get enough illegal activity going then you pop up on the radar and the heat comes. And its a reasnable to assume that these raffels are illegal in most states, churches have immunity from them in most cases, its when it becomes the primary source of income for some enitity thats when the problems start.

I'm wondering why all this concern all of a sudden for the legalities of raffles....when thousands of dollars are posted on the main forum gambling on matches openly, and using paypal to cover the gambling debts....I've never seen one post offering concerns about gambling on pool matches on the open forum....could atleast one of the anti rafflers please chime in and tell me why you haven't made any comments on this issue...FYI I have no problems with anybody taking bets, or the raffles.. it just confuses me why there is no concern if we are truely worried about the welfare of AZB.....

Very curious about this as well, the gambling is just as bad if not worse as the raffles IMO,but i like to gamble and if i wanted to raffle i would. ;)

raffles section

There was a time when you had perhaps 10 items all posted in seperate threads and bumping them all at once instead of just having one thread, should we have had a section for all of your items?
I said there should be a seprate section, what do my past posts have to do with raffles? not a thing!!!

Well I assume that you think the raffles should have there own section because there are several running, perhaps 4 or 5 threads from different guys. There are less raffle threads going right now then how many threads you had going at once at one time,so if its about taking up space in the wanted/for sale section then thats what it has to do with your past post. ;)

I've got no problems with the raffles or with them being advertised in the for sale section, but I will say that I think there are too many. It would be so much nicer, and probably gain a lot more interest, if there was only 1 or 2 going at a time and then not running anymore for a month or 2. All of these things up at once just totally takes the fun out of it, at least for me. And I doubt that a lot of people are going to pony up 20 bucks here and 30 bucks there on several different auctions going at the same time. Might as well just put all that cash together and buy a cue. There should be fewer and spaced farther apart. Just my opinion.

I think there are 5 going, only 2 i have seen on page one at the moment. It will eventually fade out i believe,to me its a cool idea to get a cue cheap,if you lose your out a few bucks, its ran so you arent ripped of using the lotto drawing also. :)

Yeah, but even 5 is too many for one time. There should really only be one going. I think people saw how well the raffle's went with Jimbo's place and they jumped on it like it was the answer to their prayers. It's turned into a bit of overkill if you ask me. Keep them separate and time them a little better and I'm sure they would work better. Like I said, if there are 5 or 6 cues up at one time no one is going to be able to bid on all of them and then you'll get splinter groups and not fill anything up..........like it is now.

I like the idea of raffling though

Well we do have a few dead forums on here that are just not being used or people posting there and perhaps should be removed, for one The Miz forum hasnt had a post in a month and others longer, perhaps we could free up bandwith or put other things in its place.I doubt they will make a raffling or strictly auction forum on here but who knows, they have so many forums already for so many things.

Sorry, when I said keep them separate I meant not having a dozen raffles going at once. I couldn't care less if they're in the for sale section. Doesn't bother me one bit. Like I said, my only problem is that there are too many going at one time and it kind of takes the fun out of it. It would be so much more interesting if there were only like one or two raffles going at once to keep an edge of excitement there. The way it stands now there are 4 or 5 of them going and there doesn't really seem to be enough interest in them.

A raffel is just another way to sell a cue.. I think they are in the right section. I'm sure nobody will agree with me. and it's not like there is a whole page full. There are maybe 5 up at a time..

But who am I? I'm nobody.. So I probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

Just my worthless opinion as usual.. :)

I have no interest in raffles. So I agree with seperate section.

So I agree with Josh, his opinion is worthless....LOL.

I think there might be five rafflles going on at this time.but all of them are for different cues and targeted towards different kind of buyers.

one is mine sellling sw,other is selling a cameron, one is selling a schon, again one is selling a jump/break.so it depends what kind of cue one is looking for and infact it gives buyers more choice to choose the right raffle they are interested in.i dont think raffles are competing with each other.its the ultimate buyers have more choice.

And also mind you az have thousands of members, and total of all these raffle would come around 100.
