Raleigh/ Brass Tap

Lot of great players in this event surprised the field was not full with this great venue and 10k added.

Maybe starting it Wednesday night this year had a effect on the working players not able to miss that much work.

Still a great field with lots of great players should be a great event

Mini tournament tonight after the calcutta.

Open Players List below, Open matches start @ Noon eastern tomorrow.

I will try to post the brackets for the Open and some updates here in this thread

AND, the shot of the night came in the finals between Morra and Al Shaheen. In the third or fourth game of the set Morra was lining up a shot to the side pocket when a moth landed on the table between him and the pocket. Without missing a beat Johnny stood up and immediately got back down lined up on the moth and shot it into the side pocket! It was an amazing shot Omar burst out laughing and Johnny stood up laughing as did many of the rail birds. It was one funny moment that everyone enjoyed. It showed how two great young players that obviously enjoy competing against one another can instantly shift gears and make a finals match look like two guys hanging and shooting for the love of the game! Really a great moment! There was another young man to make note of last night that was James Aranas, I believe he is Philippine. He played really strong and had a lot of folks talking..

Aranas is pinoy.

And thanks to all for the input. Wish i was there again.

Funny story, as payback...i was down there a few years ago 2002-2005?) And played tournament. Left my house at 6am t be there for noon start.

At about 1am, i am hill-hill and running out. I am shooting the 8 in the side and it is such an easy shot, i bet i could make it with a finger flick 2/10 times. I dogged it. Shot it rigjt into the point.
I was so mad, i got in the car and drove straight home, 6hrs for punishment.

It was not funny, back then.
