I was browsing around the Eurotour website and came across something that shocked me. Ralf Soquet has 27 consecutive 8 ball B+R's!!! That to me is unbelieveable. What is the most you guys have heard of?
Oh yeah he also has 13 9 ball B+R's

it never happend... this "Kaiser" is nothing but a myth... I think his last name to be Soze....... he is but a figment of the imagination.......

From RS site, about the final of the 2008 World 8 ball Championship :

"My opponent was defending champion Ronnie Alcano from the Philippines. Many journalists, but also the players regarded this match as a revenge match. Back in November 2006, this match was a highlight. By then, this match was the final of the WC in 9-Ball in Manila. Personally, I did not consider this match being a revenge, my main topic being that by winning this title, I could make a dream come true. A year and a half earlier, I ran out 27 tables when preparing fort he IPT Tour and I knew that my day would come also in 8-Ball."

It is true, and shocking!

I had lunch with him and Tony Drago during Interpool Open, and I asked him if the rumour about him making 27 racks in 8-ball was true.

The face of Tony Drago was priceless when Ralf Souquet said yes, and explained that it was bad contact that stopped him from getting position on the 8 in the 28th rack...

I have heard that Thorsten Hohmann has an almost similar run in 8-ball, but I am not sure...

During European Championship in Stavanger in 1997, Germany was in the final against Denmark in the Team Competition. Ralf Souquet played 8-ball and ran 10 straigth racks to win 10-0...

Ralf Souquet is a class act, one of the nicest men one could meet. Couple that with his demeenor of gentleman & a Top Professional Player, seals the deal.

Is it true that Ralf reached this level of play without having ever gambled at pool?

Souquet is one of my favorites, in fact I'm watching one of his matches tonight on DVD.

I am not surprised at all that he ran 27 racks. I'm surprised that he did not run more than that.

I've seen this man play and everything he does is absolutely perfect. In fact I don't even think he is a man. The way he operates around the table I believe he is a robot. Of course we all know that machines are not prone to making mistakes. He missed shape on the eight in the 28th rack probably because his energy source ran out. Maybe the battery lost power. He plays like we all wish we could.

That is somthing for sure. But what I find the most amazing is making a ball on the break 27 times, and doing it with out getting hooked. I can hit um pretty sporty, and that to me is truly amazing...And dont get me wrong the running out 27 times, well I think there are some better words than amazing to describe how good that is. You know there was more than 1 problem to solve....

Yeah, but that was on one of those easy 9' tables! Let's see him try that on a real 8-ball table, a 7'!

Now, now, no flaming, it's Christmas time! You don't know how long I've been waiting to say that to all the bar table haters. :D
