No. Not unless you figure to sell the cue to the book. In most cases, Rambows being one of them for sure, the Blue Book will give you values way over what the market will bear. I haven't bought or sold one in a while and am not really in the market for your cue, so I'm not that much of a help. Unless you figure (like I do) that the best way to determine market value is to auction it off to the highest bidder in a well -publicized auction by a seller that the buyers all trust (in which case I'm your man).
Is your cue signed? Are there initials near the joint on the butt and the shaft?

Actually, it looks like a Chinese knockoff they started to import in the mid 80's... they sold for around $50 brand new... that being said, I'd give you $1000 for this one just cause I'm betting the value might go up in a six or seven decades
Can't believe you said that. More cues should provide that kind of excitement to their owner :grin-square: !

The no signature/no initials deal hurts the value. The ivory (I think) butt cap is a pretty good plus although they are often in pretty poor condition and yours looks to be no exception. I'd like to see the point work if you can get a pic of that, but its just curiosity on my part. You should be able to locate a buyer here on AZ, but I'd just be guessing at the dollars.

The Blue Book is well off on Rambows. The cue market is quite a bit different than when it was published.
What helps the value is the ivory butt styling that Rambow was well known for.
What hurts the value is, from the photos, it looks like a house cue conversion (instead of a Titlist) with no signature or writing. You would need to provide some history of the cue to help authenticate it.
My estimate would be $1000 - $1200 value assuming it's straight and solid. Others may tell you more, but that would be my estimate of a fair market, auction type of value. if it is a Titlist, add $300 - $500.

Yeah I was thinking if ChicagoRJ was serious, Barry should be hopping on it, or at least opening negotiation dialog.
The 2 cue types that surprise me (in a good way) as far as values go are Rambows and Barrys. It seems they are consistently worth more than I would have thought.

The portion of the butt of the cue between the wrap and the joint where the two woods are jointed forming 4 "points". A picture of one of those points would be helpful, although I think (as usual) Chris is right about what you have.
Anyway shoot some pics of that area and email them to me when you get a chance.

Don't blame him, I had a Burton Spain for 25 years before I realized it was a Spain when I saw the pic of my cue in the blue book of cues.... I then went to Hercek's and he confirmed it was a Spain.....
I mean, he didn't sign his cues.... how the hell was I too know, I was 15 when I got the cue
