I went into a local dive bar with a friend of mine after the Superbowl on Sunday and ran into a fellow aZer, “Foolio”. He was gambling smaller stakes on one of the tables. I got some small railbird action on him on the side. A few sets later his opponent wanted to double the stakes which he did not want to do. I told him that I would go half with him. We did it and he did not let me down, he played great shooting with confidence and control. This kid has come a long way in a short time and clearly a force to be reckoned with. He has the desire to become a world class player and it shows. Keep it up Kid your coming along fine.

What kind of weight was he getting? I know he doesn't need it, but he always asks for it.

Johnny

Thanks DR for your words. It feels like I got my stroke back after what feels like a month and Sunday I felt it.

Johnny, no weight was given. I think those days of me getting weight are over, unless I'm playing a much better player. In that case I shouldn't even be playing them at all.

Name of dive bar please. Like to check it out. In SoCal I persume.

Hey Johnny,
He was playing the red head Even and winning handily. He game looked pretty good.

Good luck this weekend,

Foolio,

You're right about one thing, you don't need weight to beat anyone that goes into that bar, except for the other Johnny. Glad to see your confidence is starting to catch up to your skill. I remember you whupping up on me pretty good in our last APA match, although that is one of the last things I remember about that night. You're playing very well the last few times I've seen you. But I don't think you should discount playing against much stronger players. Keep it friendly, or keep the bet small. I like to gauge where I'm at not only by who I beat, but by how many games I can win in a set against those stronger players. Playing stronger players makes me focus more, whereas if I'm playing someone I know I can or should beat, I'll find myself slacking off on occasion. Just some food for thought, and congrats on your win.

Iron Mule, NOT a bar a would recommend... But there are some cool people there once in while hit or miss IMO usually miss

Come on, DR. Don't sell the Iron Mule short. There is always at least one cool person in there. The air is clean, the women are classy, and the tables are well maintained. What more could you ask for? #sarcasm
