Rare curly purpleheart titlist warpless conversion

curly purpleheart titlist? what a killer combination!
I'd jump on this one if I was still single, and my expenses were low...
Can't go anywhere wrong with this.
Good luck with your sale.

Duc, What happened to the purple veneers? Looks like they just disappear at the bottom of each point. Looked at the pic hard, but looks like they are gone. Can you elaborate? Thanks.

Titlist conversiion

Hi Guys,

Well it was oversize so I decided to give a shot at converting for a few of the older Gina (60's) shafts along with a nice curly tad shaft. The cue plays really damn good...just plain old high quality wood. Yes, that purple heart veneers to to have just thin out and it's pictured. The points pictured on this blank is probably the worst and the good thing is that this blank can still be re-converted by cutting down 1.5" from the joint to get the proper modern diameter of .84 and maybe the point even true. In any case, the blanks matched really well with the old shafts and plays dynamite...seem like they were matched to begin with.

Looking for 1K for this cue with all 3 old shafts.

Here's a few shot:

Butt Weight in at 14 oz.
Joint is 5/16-18 with white phenolic (diameter of joint is about .815)
3 shafts (2 Old 60's Gina with ivory and one old curly Tad)
Both Gina and Tad shafts are cleaned and sealed.
One of the Gina shaft has wood missing on the piloted..please have a look at the pics
Both shafts roll very straight with very very slight taper roll. Stay flat on table and sight straight.
One Gina shaft has a new Molavia hard installed and the other still have an old LePro(?) tip
The shaft with the Molavia tip is 12.42mm and weigh in at 3.6oz
The shaft with the org tip is 12.35mm and weight in at 3.4oz
The Tad shaft is about 12.33mm and weight in at 3.8 oz

Bump to the top for a great playing cue. These old shafts plays super solid and live up to their builder's name!! Total refund if you're not satisfied with the playability of this conversion!! Again..these shafts are the nut!!!

Bump to the Top for some offers!! Never heard back from some of the guys that placed offers....that's how the market is I guess now. You can't say the deal is done until money is in hand....lots of offers and I'll take it....with no follow up.

Hey Duc,

what does the cue look like now. There are so many pics posted and I can't tell where the cue stands. Is it converted? Is it oversized still? What shaft comes with it? You mentioned tad and Gina shafts. I'm just confused. Please explain... Thanks

Hi,
The first 3 pics is exactly how the cue looks now. I'm about to send the cue to Jerry Olivier to be re-converted to a nice wrap less cue.

Regards,
Duc.
