rare meucci?

I used to have one similar to this cue but it was a Meucci Originals. I sold that cue for $500 a while back.

Now for all you guys offering suggested value of this cue, especially those who told this yahoo that his cue is worth up to $700, are you willing to pay him $700? No you are not. So you really arent doing this guy any service at all.

Ken

That is so true. I see it all the time on this forum. I always think to myself, "why don't you buy it, if the cue is such a steal". Of course, my opinion is that the cue is worth about $100...of course I'd just try and flip it and sell it for $300.

The other thing that I find funny is when people say don't bring "insulting" or lowball offers. Why not? The guy probably lowballed the pawn shop owner and got it for $50. So is an offer of $75 considered low-ball?

That being said, I'll give you $100 for the plastic cue. :)

I find his statement that he doesn't have to sell the cue and doesn't have time to entertain "stupid" offers to be an invitation to be criticized. He doesn't have a price listed, yet wants possible offers? I've seen others on this site told time and time again to POST A PRICE. Why should this cat be treated any differently?

ok im going to put all of this to rest right now to stop all the arguments...i posted it in the wanted/for sale section because i WANTED information about it because i couldnt find much about it online and the blue book didnt offer much...not ONCE did i say i wont take less than a grand for this cue or this cue is for sale in any way...no i dont know as much as many of you on here about cues but i do know some and yes i got one of the best deals you could ever ask for for this and another cue...as for what justin said im curious why you say this cue is not old and in good shape? this cue is straight as an arrow and not a single scratch or ding on it in fact when i showed just the butt to several guys around here who know something about cues every single one of them thought it was brand new and wondered if they were still making that model. so im going to say this again ALL I WANTED IS INFORMATION on it such as history of the model, maybe about when it was made, if they still make it, value of it things of that sort because i have never seen this cue before so i will ask nicely if you cant give me at least consctructive information then please dont post anything im not on here "actively" trying to sell this cue i have already had several offers locally. and as far as the blue book i have already said this at least twice...I KNOW I WILL NOT GET CLOSE TO WHAT IT SAYS IF I DO SELL IT!!!! i simply used the blue book to see what is was worth new

if nobody wants it here throw it on ebay and it will do in the mid to high 5's im sure........bottom line its a great jam up meucci before the black dot and you would be hard pressed to replace it for that.........gorgeous cue!!!!!

n 8 ball if you sold a meucci original of this cue for 500 in good condition for 500 then market or not you unfortunately sold it waaaaay to short,,,it is still worth mid 7's and would do that all day long on ebay of not a few bucks more!

Fair enough...

Meucci 97-31B

Retail price---$1200...direct from Meucci price is 20% off, so $960...seconary market price, used, significantly less

It does not contain any ivory...Meucci used their own proprietary ivory substitute (basically, phenolic) which has grain in it to somulate ivory

It is still in production and available new from Meucci...I just ordered one and sold it about a month ago

It is not rare or unusual, but it is a nice cue and one of Meucci's top of the line models.

You GO Joe!!! This forum needs more of YOU and less .....Well..It just needs more of you, that's all!!

as for what justin said im curious why you say this cue is not old and in good shape?

Perhaps I should of clarified my statement. By old I mean the Meucci's with "Meucci originals" on the butt cap not the new logo like you have. Many people feel the construction was better back then and the fact that they are no longer made adds value to a collector. Since your cue is not old enough to fit into this category its condition is moot. It looks to be in good shape but to a collector who possibly would pay on the higher end of the scale it doesnt matter because the cue is new (compared what many look for).

As for the value. Thats up to you.

Here is a pic of the logo I am talking about:

thank you joe...that was pretty much exactly what i was looking for...and thanks justin thats what i was assuming you meant by old but even at that i dont think you realize how good of shape its really in. for a used cue it doesnt matter if it was made last year i would be suprised how good of shape its in. on another note...that pic you posted...do you have a full picture of that cue, i found one with that exact same design on the bottom of the cue the other day but had no name on it im wondering if the whole cue looks the same.

The cue that I had was all white above the wrap, not like the black in he picture of the original poster, my cue did have the meucci originals logo as shown in the above pic. I do understand that I might have sold it a tad cheap but I didnt use that cue anymore and the right buyer came along and offered a fair price. I am happy and he is happier with a better cue all in all a win-win situation.
