They need to redesign the corner pockets, not sure about the sides.
When Alcaide shot a ball into the lower r/h pocket I noticed (after the upchuck of his pocketed ball) there were two balls in the bottom.
Somehow, the ball he pocketed/straight in came back out after contacting the two balls at the pocket bottom.
Don't ever remember in all my years of playing, having this happen, unless there were allot of balls in the hole.

They need to address this concern immediately.

Like you said yourself its very rare! It happens, very occasionally, so its not a big deal.

I don't specifically recall it happening in the Mosconi Cup before (that said I have a vague recollection of something similar maybe about 10 years ago, but its very possible I'm getting confused with a different Matchroom event), but these things happen, players get good and bad rolls, its part of the game.

Dont get rid of ball return its great drama.

I suspect its worth having control of a ball return. No one can see how it happens, its pools Miss Universe moment, when then said the wrong name.

Most people will be puzzled for years, if they think about it. Its a good dummy check question.

I played on a Medalist in a pool hall that had a loose ball return rail under one side pocket. If you were dead straight in, a hard hit ball would bounce right back out. Astounded two my friends when it came up in a game.

In Coney Island Brooklyn there are carnival games/shows. You can attract a lot of losers by making the game look easy.

For the shows entertainers play with your sense of smell, heat or sight. It can fool people into having genuine reactions.

However the game is rigged and the audience reactions are taken advantage of.

A pool table that can pop balls out, is a similar rigging technique. If I was in charge I'd put a device to make it happen on demand.

That would be for a carnival game purpose, not a sanctioned pro tournament.

After playing on Gold CRowns since the sixties i dont recall ball flying out of pockets..Bigger drop pockets on Rasson would probably cure the problem.

I have the softer ones in my GC I that Dave Isaasc installed on my rebuild.
Perfect.
Like Jewett said, the lining needs to be softer/period.

Did you watch that shot?

Yeah...my point is its very rare, as someone else posted there was a similar instance in the World Pool Masters in 2021 and whilst it will have happened other times, its so rare it really isn't a huge deal.

Also from Matchroom's perspective, random stuff like that simply adds to the drama!

ONLY time in 40yrs i've seen this on a GC is when there were too many balls in the pocket. I played on a Rasson in FtWorthBilliards showroom. Played ok but nothing to get excited about. Didn't see this happen but i didn't fire one in like these shots. Rather have a GC/Diamond any day.

Where did you see that in print?
