Rasson vs Diamond Tables

Does he play 1
The only thing that kept me from getting a Rasson was the local companies that sell them. The Installers are finely tuned hackers. Get this. 10 hours to install at $150 hour … If they were able to do a perfect setup I might have moved on one.
yikes

Call me an old timer... I like the wooden ones I restore... here's a couple

Manuf/shipping costs are far cheaper doing it like Rasson does. I hit balls on a OX in a Dallas store and it played fine.

There's more to deal with for the installer, two guys for 8 hours instead of 6 hours. We charge $600cdn = $420usd for a Rasson set up and $500cdn = $350usd for ordinary 3-pce 9' setup. If it is the first time, have patience, it will come out perfect. Did the $1,500usd quote include much travel? Will you say who gave that quote?

Not listing publicly. In S Florida. If anyone in the area is shopping they can let me know who they are thinking about using and I’ll chat ala PM. I know the mechanics that would have set it up. They serviced our clubhouse. They are ok for bangers or home table buyers that do not know the difference. There are 2 dealers I had to pick from. One no way. The other had a 1st class installer but retired and his family are the mechanics. They set up a Diamond Pro that I bought from them … I had to have it done again … bought a new cloth and paid a tech $900 for travel and install. $1300 to re-do. I would have gladly paid $150 an hour for the Rasson if I thought it would be a tournament grade proper set up. The $1500 would have been cheaper than paying 2x and no aggravation.
The 1500 did not require travel. Local business. I do not mind paying a premium for any job done right.
I like the Rasson. Would have liked it to work out. I have a GCIV and Diamond Pro .. love both. I thank The Turk for the new rubber & re-cloth in 2010. It’s still plays well. If he was still doing set ups I’d have him re-do the Diamond. It still has hiccups. And if he was available when I was thinking about the Rasson he would have been the one. A true professional mechanic. No idea where he is but I hope he is ok and doing well

The OX and Vic might grow on you.
I have a 9' Rasson Challenger - Gold Crown style legs - it has a textured rail that I worried about at first, but the players like it just fine. Significantly less expensive than the Victory and Ox with the same leveling system. Seems to be discontinued on the Rasson site. My supplier still has one. My price to you is $5,500usd, table only, you arrange freight from eastern Canada, cloth, and setup.

Try listing on the For Sale forum.

Table reminds me of the GC4. It looks much better than the grey one I see on some websites

Rasson is a symptom of the disease that is Matchroom. Comparing a Rasson to a Diamond is like comparing a Chevette to a Corvette.

In what ways? Be specific. Brian.
he won't 'cause he doesn't even know. personally i'd go with a Diamond because its American-made. Is it better? Who knows. Totally different const. methods but both play fine IF set up right.

The aluminium extrusions are heavy and they sit on a frame that is very strong. The slate is fastened to the extrusions by 21 devices which hold the slate BOTH up and down with machine bolts, nuts, and lock nuts - not 12 wood screws & misc shims. We have four at Peacock Billiards in Victoria, BC, Canada and they do not go out of level AT ALL after 5 years with the public placing on them.
Can these tables be ordered with 4.25" corners and 4.75" side? I only see them listed with 4.5" and 5" sides? Also who is your supplier in eastern Canada or atleast what province?

Thanks

Don’t know re custom openings. Thicker facings of best quality will do it. You want to buy from my supplier, not me?
