Rasson vs Diamond Tables

I don't think my Diamond has paralel facings. That could be why the ones in our league play easier.
I'll have to check when I get home in a few days.

Mine doesn't. Pockets are 4 1/2" at opening and 3 7/8" where the cushions meet the facing.

Update, just got home, fishing was bad so came home early.
My Diamond professional pockets measure, 4 5/8" at the mouth, 3 15/16" at the back end. Far from parallel.
I would think any table with close to parallel facings would play extremely easy.

You are right but it’s a really small amount of taper. You can look at my pockets on my rasson and see the taper inward from 4.5 to 4. The diamond pockets aren’t like that it isn’t as noticeable
What you might want to look at is the shelve depth, how far it is from a line drawn between the points to the drop off of the pocket. Diamonds are pretty deep which is probably why their pockets are more parallel. If they weren't you would have a hard time making a ball down the rail.

Shelve depth and the angle the rails are cut are two ways to make a pocket play tougher.

Plays like a normal table doesn’t bank funky and isn’t a pin ball machine. The rail rubber used on the diamond is different than a rasson ox. now those other rasson tables the mr sung tables that Jayson Shaw has in his pool room has different rails than the ox or victory. They are cheaper and play different ive heard. Thinner slate different rail rubber and cheaper construction

that thinner slate is pretty standard, 1 inch. the thicker slate on the rasson ox isn't really necessary.. jmho.

The Mr. Sung table looks like a cheaper version of the Challenger. The Challenger uses Artemis pool 66 and Diamond uses Artemis Intercontinental 66, not sure if it's cheaper than the Klematch P59.

There is an official spec for the angle for the facings. It's 142 degrees +-1. Parallel would be 135.
