Burton Spain

I was told that after ray died the found a bunch of these blanks made by burton and started building conversion cues. I got this info from one of the largest Schuler dealers . If anybody has some more information on the history of these I would like to hear it. Thanks :D

Burt stated on many occasions that he was motivated to make
his own blanks when the quality of Titlist declined.

I have never heard anything about him making a Titlist - blank or otherwise.

Perhaps Joel or Mr H can shed some light.

Burton blanks/shorts

Spain did NOT make Titlist blanks!

Called my schuler dealer friend yesterday and this is what I found out, Ray and Burton were good friends back in Chicago, after ray died a bow was found a box with 20 of these shorts in it from Burton Spain . so there are only 20 of these out there, we are working on getting documentation from Schuler hope to have it next week, when I get it the price on this cue will go up :-) I am not trying to sell something that isn't what I say it is so hold tight and I will back up my words. I will still let it go for $750 plus shipping till The paperwork comes then it will go up,($900-$1,100 ) could us the cash now otherwise I would wait. Thanks for looking :-)

Thanks

Thanks for the replies,What I am gathering is the corect wording should be " Titleist tribute By Burton Spain " Again I hope to have the documentation by next week. Will make for a nice collectable cue when I get it  Keep the posts coming, thanks

Based on what those veneers look like, I would say this is a Titlist blank, made by Brunswick.

I don't doubt they came from Burton's shop, but Burton did not make them (in my opinion) based on what they look like.

Burton's veneers were always near perfect.

Spain built

I asked a well known Spain expert and he advised me these are not Spain built. Just looks like titleist blanks. Good luck with sale.

There is no such thing as a "Spain blank Titlist." Now a Spain built Titlist tribute blank... that could be, I don't know. BTW, I own all of the Titlist cues that were formerlly owned by Schuler Cue when they "switched locations."

So what do I have here ? Is this what you have ? Thanks for any info / value of this cue ? Thanks

You have a very nice Titlist that was converted by Schuler.

Your original title was accurate: "Schuler Titlist Conversion".

I think it's priced in the right ballpark.

GL with the sale.

Technically, what you have is a Schuler Titlist conversion, rather than a Ray Schuler conversion. The SLC written by the signature indicates that the cue was made after Ray's passing, most likely by the Trims. No connection with Spain, and very little with Ray. Now that you know exactly what you have, my advice is to start yourself a new FS thread, titled accurately, as we have all littered this one up with chit chat.
GLWYS :)

Mr. Hoppe is dead right on this one!! A Ray Schuler conversion and a Schuler titlist conversion are most definetly not the same thing. Great thing about 'AZ' is you have very knowlegable individuals, like Mr. Hoppe, to educate on what is possibly being advertised (or not being advertised) for sale. I wish the seller of this cue the very possible best on a potential sale but should heed Mr. Hoppe's advise and start a new thread with a more accurate title.
