Re-Felting Table Looking To Go Cheap

I'm looking to re-felt a table in our development's clubhouse.

I'm currently the only person using it. Not sure how long I'll be here so I don't want to put a lot of money in a table that's not mine.

I'm currently looking at either Mercury Ultra, Titan 3078 or Mali Broadway. They're all around $100.

Any recommendations on any of these or similar for around $100 on an 8' table.

Don't cheap out . The cost of the actual cloth is minimal compared to the installation labor , and while top quality cloth may cost you $100 (or so) more now , consider this ~ you get the benefit of playing/drilling on the Simonis (or whatever) , and if you're not exaggerating TOO much , there's no one else to abuse it or mess it up.

worsted cloth = looks worse sooner , plays better longer

napped cloth = looks better longer , plays worse sooner

are you a player , or a poseur ? just askin' . . .

While paying for the Simonis would be the better choice, if I had to pick one of those three I would go with the Mercury Ultra.

Those are all napped cloths with slow speed.
Based on your $ requirement I'd recommend ProForm cloth which is worsted and goes around $135

I wouldn't want to spend much to recover a table I didn't own either. If it were me, I'd find a good mechanic in the area, then ask him if he has or will soon have any used cloth from recovering jobs. I'd then have him re-use it, putting the unused side on top. I know that good cloth has a "top" side that has the fibers shaved to a uniform spec, however I've looked at the "bottom" side of some cloth samples and don't really see a lot of difference. If you gave a local mechanic your business, you could probably get some used Simonis for next to nothing from him. For your purposes it would probably play acceptably and be very cost-effective.

Don't be penny wise and dollar foolish. Get a decent cloth. If more players start showing up ask them to have a little ownership and make a contribution. If and when they contribute they will also show up more and will repect their investment.

out of those three choices I recommend the titan to my customers. This cloth is also easy to work with considering your going to do it yourself. It won't play as well as simonis but it doesn't play bad. The worsted wools are more difficult to install.
