Rear foot in line with shot

I was recently watching Appletons video and he touched briefly on the line of your rear foot. I feel like we don't talk about foot positioning enough and it is often overlooked.

I overlooked it myself until watching that video and have since begun really paying attention to the line my feet are on. Setting your rear foot in line to the shot and then stepping into the shot with your forward foot forces your arm to come down straight into the shot and realizing this has helped me get to that next level in a few days.

That being said he doesn't touch much on the line of the forward foot when you step into the shot and I was wondering if any instructors or high level players out there had any insight on this.

Don't try to play pool the perfect way, if there is a perfect way?

Get down in your stance that makes you the most comfortable and then line up your shot the best way that works for you!

There are so many different ways of playing pool (stance, stroke, aim) one would go crazy trying to do it the perfect way.

we can always get better at pool, just not perfect!

Good luck to you and I hope you understand what iam trying to say!

I highly recommend you get Mark Wilson's book, Play Great Pool. It'll cost you $75 but it is well worth it. In my humble opinion, taking advice from more or less anonymous but well-intentioned people online may or may not help your game, but it will almost certainly slow your progress unnecessarily. I think you can pick up "tips and tricks" and things like that online (I know I have) but when it comes to the main fundamentals, go to a reliable source. All of your questions will be answered in Mark's book.

Good luck.
