Know wonder were going into recession .this country cant even send the right players to the mosconi cup.Dont get me wrong every player over their was a great player at one time . But strickly my opinion I think Corey and Gabe should be their and Earls time has pasted.Like I said dont get me wrong Earl is a great player but what has he done lately to deserve this spot.Europe sent their best players at this given time.Well anyway just my opinion go USA.

Earl going to the Mosconi Cup has ZERO to do with whether team America wants to win. The promoters know he is liable to blow up at any time, and that makes for good entertainment.

It's just a marketing decision.

I feel that nobodt has or want the responsibility to tell Earl no or that his time is past. He has embarrased the US to no end and cntinues to, but he was also a glue that held thsi together for while as well. Many have a strong wnse of loyalty and let's face it, when Earl is no longer a part of this, it is going to be missing something and appear very weird.

I'm not and Earl fan and never have been, but I respect what he once was. He has promoted the game, but I wish he would step down with dignity instead of hanging onto the Water Wagon too long.

With the exception of Shane Van Boening, the US team is a carbon copy of teams that have one in the past. And I don't think you can blame Shane.
 
Did I miss the fat lady singing? Its a 2 point lead, if its a blow out from here then i guess we can say we might not have sent the best players. Then again we are talking about pool and with out watching every match from begining to end one would not really know how the balls were rolling.

And Earl, Im thinken he did better at the open than anybody on this forum. Theres knowbody playing today that can play better than Earl could. If he had sombody that really cared about him (family or a real friend) that could get it through his head that there is somthing not right with the way his mind is working, and get him some help. Im betting he could play even better than he does. But if not I think the guy is in a lot more trouble than being on a losing team.
 
Just reminder Earls last win in 9 ball was 2003 viking tour since that half of his money earned was particapating in the mosconi cup team.Corey has averaged 80000 a year for the last 4 years. Like I said im not taking anything away from Earl its just time for a change.
 
Earl has the best Mosconi Cup record of all players, and he turned 1-4 to 5-4 against Tony Drago in front of Tony's homecrowd yesterday. Earl played almost perfect.

As long as he performces on the Mosconi Cup, he will be on the team. When he can't win any matches anymore, his antics will not be enough, and he will be out.

In the meantime, the other American players just need to win big events to make sure they can get a spot ;)
