Dumb Question

Can I ask: What are recut points and how do I tell if a cue has them?

Thanks,

Pete

A recut point is really what it sounds like actually. instead of a veneer it's a point cut over another just not as deep giving a veneered look with no seam or miter.

wish

i want to see as many cues with recut points as possible! post em up please!
I wish I knew how to post pictures.I bought what I thought was a 6pt. Black Boar at Valley Forge in 2010. I showed it to Tony Scianella and the first thing he says is "That is not a 6pt. cue it is a 12point cue " and then went on to explain that the 3 tall points were actually 3 points in each one. They are ebony points cut into Tulip wood cut into ebony. The cue is has a ring of tulip wood inlays in the ebony butt with a black smooth leather wrap.It is sleek and beautiful to look at and plays like all 6 points Black Boars, Great.

Old Verl Horn

Here's an old Verl Horn that was just refinished by Paul Dayton. This must have been made in the early 80's. Check out the ivory and pink ivory re-cut.
