what's the difference between meucci's red dot and black dot shafts
thanks, jake

One is solid a whip the other is a laminated whip. Both are clocked by the dot to decrease the whip effect.UWPoolGod1 said:One's whippy and the other is whippier.![]()
Just kidding, I have no idea. I just didn't like the hit of a friends Meucci I tried out.

RiverCity said:The red dots were the last of Bob Meuccis decent shaft wood supply, so he marked them with a red dot and claimed it was "new" technology. The black dot laminated shafts on the otherhand are cut from multiple economy grade fence posts and glued together with horse bone glue from the Meucci Appoloosa Ranch. They too are "new" technology, he figured out how to make shafts that warp easier than any others that came before them, while providing a wonderfully dull thud of a hit.
Bob Meucci used to make really nice playing cues.... The Originals from 1975 through the 95 series all were pretty well made..... after that who knows what happened.

Other than what were being mentioned, I believe the ferrule might have been installed a bit differently on the black dots.bigskyjake said:what's the difference between meucci's red dot and black dot shafts

Dead Money said:When did they start the Red Dot and Black Dot stuff? I have an old Meucci Sneaky Pete and it doesn't have either dot. I wanna say I bought it in about 1990. I like playing with it still but I may get something else down the road![]()
