relationships and pool = what?

Ah I don't know like someone said it depends on the parties...I always had problems with this issue mainly because I hung around in Pool rooms and never quite liked the picking for the female pool hanger on to put it nicely..However I recently met someone outside of pool who would follow me anywhere and be supportive it can do wonders for your confidence which is half the game any way...Especially if you have the other half :D

When your head and heart are right and confidence is up that is a great combination for taking your game to the next level....
Say what???? Next time, in English please......

Here I go again? Sorry for the picture and proper language. This is how I speak and this is how I pose for a picture. Who the hell are you?[/QUOTE

Maybe your pictures are from the waist up for a reason? Try Photo-Shop, Miss Snooty.

Haha... good stuff. :D But to be fair, I've never walked out or left early from a league match (even when I wasn't playing). She does tend to call a lot during league matches however, and gets mad when I don't answer.

Just to clear one thing up, she is technically my ex-gf. We still see each other and hang out like we're togeter, but we're not. I know... I don't get it either.

DM, a t-shirt would be nice... XL please. :D
F&^k-buddies......been there, done that. Actually it's kinda nice!

I am trying to make sense of this comment. Can anyone help me? I apologize if I have assisted with lowering this thread to its lowest common denominator, but we all knew it was headed there inevitably...

We actually discussed that and what LS was talking about. I told her straight that I wasn't interested in being her safety net. From the conversations we've had we decided to take it slow and just see where it goes. Is she leading me on? I don't know... I don't get that feeling. But, only time will tell.

To get back to the pool topic, she really does seem a little more understanding of it. She still doesn't support it, but at least she doesn't sabotage me anymore.
Ummmm.....calling during league matches is not "sabotage"???

Nope. You "raise" it up! :D

Let me put it simply.

If you want to play your best pool you have to devote all of your spare time to the game.

If you want to play once a week and catch an occasional flashback of greatness, or hit balls like you've never played the game...then get married and have a kid. This was the route I chose, and I don't regret it. You just have to decide what your priorities are and go with it. A successful relationship takes TIME, EFFORT, and SACRIFICE (on both sides). Love is only a small portion of it.

Y'er damn tootin' pardner...there's also sex....and then there's sex....and then you also have sex. Well, let's face it...that's what you're HOPING for on a regular basis so you don't have to beat the streets looking all over for it, that's why a guy gets married.

But then you find out that it no longer becomes available as you wished and you end up beating something else instead of the streets. :D

Btw...if you still want to shoot a hell of a lot of pool, you buy one (pool table) and put it in the house...end of problem!!!

LOL, I thought the EXACT same thing!!! I'm not your normal girl...I'm a tomboy, & I think more like a guy. I hate it when someone asks me for a "woman's perspective"... go talk to a woman! I'm a redneck tomboy... did the beer drinking, pool shoooting, blue jean wearing, cursing, F' it attitude not give you that clue?!?! :p Newguy... your g/f, ex, whatever she is... gets on my nerves. She plays games..... If I were you, I would run like hell. Not only are the games going to get worse, but if her mother has this much say in her life now & she allows it... DUDE, you are SOOOOO screwed... you won't have a g/f... you'll have a g/f & her mother... package deal! Mark my words ;)

Lora Ann, I have no clue what that persons issue is. You've hardly posted enough to piss anyone off. They mentioned something about your pic in one of the "faces" thread.... something about it being fake. If the pics look contrived, it's because they are... You've already said that a photographer friend takes your pics, correct? How about you post a regular, taken at home in the backyard, candid pic to prove that you are who you say you are and maybe they'll STFU about it.

Speaking from the far side of this male dominated topic, I have a somewhat different perspective on this matter.

My love for the game and the hours I dedicate to it have often acted as a deterrent to would-be suitors. Certain guys can't quite resolve the girl + pool equation and it upsets them on a level they cannot easily expound upon. The best I can glean from the few pool/relationship related hiccups would be the verification of the fragile male ego ;)

I quite like the intimidation factor but that's for another thread...

A friend of mine did just that, when his wife was at work when he put it up, IN THE LIVING ROOM.

He nows plays in the pool hall again.

I knew a guy that built a bomb shelter a couple of stair levels below his home while he was building. Hell for stout door, and everything you needed to survive a few weeks, ice box, beer, chips, even some dip. I think he put the pool table down there and then built over it as I can't imagine getting a table down those stairs. Smart man! The wife would need a bunker buster to get to him and you can't even hear the kids down there.

Huh, I'm stickin' one in my living room...right in front of the fireplace...you know for those romantic pool evenings. What is wrong with it in the living room???

I'd put mine in the kitchen. I'm just gonna eat out anyway.

Yep, best of both worlds :D

Dave, who has a wife (13 years), a pool table (12 years), and my favorite, a kid (10 years)
