Ah I don't know like someone said it depends on the parties...I always had problems with this issue mainly because I hung around in Pool rooms and never quite liked the picking for the female pool hanger on to put it nicely..However I recently met someone outside of pool who would follow me anywhere and be supportive it can do wonders for your confidence which is half the game any way...Especially if you have the other half

When your head and heart are right and confidence is up that is a great combination for taking your game to the next level....

Haha... good stuff. But to be fair, I've never walked out or left early from a league match (even when I wasn't playing). She does tend to call a lot during league matches however, and gets mad when I don't answer.

Just to clear one thing up, she is technically my ex-gf. We still see each other and hang out like we're togeter, but we're not. I know... I don't get it either.

We actually discussed that and what LS was talking about. I told her straight that I wasn't interested in being her safety net. From the conversations we've had we decided to take it slow and just see where it goes. Is she leading me on? I don't know... I don't get that feeling. But, only time will tell.

To get back to the pool topic, she really does seem a little more understanding of it. She still doesn't support it, but at least she doesn't sabotage me anymore.

Let me put it simply.

If you want to play your best pool you have to devote all of your spare time to the game.

If you want to play once a week and catch an occasional flashback of greatness, or hit balls like you've never played the game...then get married and have a kid. Lora Ann, I have no clue what that persons issue is. You've hardly posted enough to piss anyone off. They mentioned something about your pic in one of the "faces" thread.... something about it being fake. If the pics look contrived, it's because they are... You've already said that a photographer friend takes your pics, correct? How about you post a regular, taken at home in the backyard, candid pic to prove that you are who you say you are and maybe they'll STFU about it.

Speaking from the far side of this male dominated topic, I have a somewhat different perspective on this matter.

My love for the game and the hours I dedicate to it have often acted as a deterrent to would-be suitors. Certain guys can't quite resolve the girl + pool equation and it upsets them on a level they cannot easily expound upon. The best I can glean from the few pool/relationship related hiccups would be the verification of the fragile male ego

I quite like the intimidation factor but that's for another thread...

I knew a guy that built a bomb shelter a couple of stair levels below his home while he was building. Hell for stout door, and everything you needed to survive a few weeks, ice box, beer, chips, even some dip. I think he put the pool table down there and then built over it as I can't imagine getting a table down those stairs. Smart man! The wife would need a bunker buster to get to him and you can't even hear the kids down there.
