Most of the Pool I get to see on Television is Ladies Nine Ball. These Ladies to me are Great Players.

I think it would be interesting to see a Pool Battle of the Sexes Tournament with the 10 Top Male Players in the World, and 10 Top Female Players in the World battling for BEST POOL PLAYER ON THE PLANET TITLE.

Think it could be a Combination Tournament of 9 Ball (Race to Seven), 8 Ball (Race to Five),& One Pocket (Race to Three) with ONE POINT being awarded to each player for a Win, an everyone playing everyone else in all games.

Think Pool is a Sport, or Game where Women, are not Handicapped, and on any day could beat ANY MAN, or Visa Versa.

What do you all thing of my idea of, battling for The TITLE BEST POOL PLAYER ON THE PLANET.

Ok, no offense to any of the women that participate in this forum but honestly, it would be a complete slaughter and I don't see a real point in bringing such a discrepancy to the public spotlight. Don't get me wrong, I really feel the progress in the WPBA is amazing and I'm absolutely certain that there is nothing that would give men a genetic or physical advantage over women. It is inevitable that they will play as well as the men one day but today is not that day.

Why do you feel women are INFERIOR to me in the Game of Pool?

Strength?

Brains?

Coordination?

or ?

I believe that a man's Penis in combination with gravitational pull provides men with a much steadier base, thus enabling us to have a smoother more accurate STROKE. no pun intended. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

Note: Also i don't have any Ta-Ta's to get in my way.

For a full explanation, please read my book entitled: 'How to Make the Forum Police jump into a thread and bitch over Intollerable Content'

I never said women are inferior to men in the game of pool. I was referring specifically to your top ten (or professional pool, in general). There's a significant difference. I believe a woman is fully capable of learning how to play this game and in a vacuum, would have similar expectations as their male counterparts. However, that is currently not the case. The men's professional field is far superior.

Listen, I'm going to spell this out because I don't want you to assume anything anymore. Honestly, you cannot simply look at women and make broad conclusions as to why they're currently not playing at the same level without taking a really good look at what has gone on throughout history. Women's Liberation? That has been going on for a mere blink of an eye and is no where near completion. Women are still treated as subordinates and until the day comes when one can honestly say that the two sexes are consistently treated as peers, women will not be in their natural state. When and only when that day comes when you can say that the natural state of women is consistently observed would I begin to pass judgment on their ability as a gender. Until that day, it would simply be unfair and would ignore the thousands upon thousands of years of subjection women have had to endure.

I'm looking at the WPBA top 10 and I'm friends with a few of them so I don't want to go into what she can do or can't do. They're a class act and they represent women's progression in pool which is continuing to progress but make no mistake of it, the men are simply better and the women would be the first to admit it. Why? I'd say the biggest reason is because they've been treated as subordinates for approximately 300,000 years and have only recently been allowed into the competitive arena. Until that's fully corrected, we can't even begin to hypothesize physical or psychological differences.

I think with a rubber band, a chunk of Keilbassa, 1 bra, 2 oranges and a little duct tape, I could make a fair game. Wanna play?

Edit: Do you know how tough it was to find the right wording for a chunk of Keilbassa? I played around with about 10 ways of saying it, without using the words Large or Small, in fear of being brutally picked on. LOL

ROTFLMAO! I am just not certian the "chunk of Keibassa" will have the same effect that you described. I'm thinking we need a clean slate! Call me when it is done, then yes, I'll play. :p

BTW, Oranges?? DAMN!!! :D

Interesting that you mention Billie Jean vs Bobby, because ABC tried to extend the same concept to pool only months later in the Battle of the Sexes between Balukas and Mosconi. Billie Jean King had made gender equality in sports front page news back then, and the timing sure seemed right for the event, but it wasn't received particularly well and didn't make for great viewing.

Well I would still like to see a Battle of the SEXES, to see who is best... :p

And Balukas did not win once.
Contrary to her claim. I know who ref'd that match.

Hmm. I watched it when it was played thrity years ago, Joey, but I'm drawing a bit of a blank here regarding who was ref in Mosconi vs Balukas on ABC Wide World of Sports. Was it Charlie Ursitti? Cue Ball Kelly? Help!

i understand your intent,,,but to undermine it a bit. the "ten" ladies are not of equal caliber. the number women capable of making any dent in field of EIGHTY men can be counted on two fingers.

on the plus side,,,it would be more equal than basketball or boxing.

I would think Keith McCready Vs Vivian Villarreal would be entertaining. Or Allision or Lee. Johnnyt

It is simply a matter of practice time. Men have so much more practice time than ladies that it just wouldn't be fair.

After all there is no such thing as a quickie when working solo. :D

Actually, it's probably the same reason as why women make less money, on average, than men: women get pregnant, have babies, raise them so far along, and this interupt their careers. When they return to work (or pool) they are too far behind the curve to ever catch up with the men who have consistently stayed in the game.

Allison would give any man a tough battle, though. I'd love to see the sexes compete.

The men juice the cue ball more than the ladies. The ladies roll the ball, and it's just boring to watch. Vivian shoots like a guy, but there's too much drama going on with her.

I read Karon Corr vs. Sambo (sorry I don't know his name but he's like ranked 5th I think) at PJs in Connectiocet (I think it was in Inside pool ans sorry about spelling). And he beat her fairly bad if I remeber. Now she's like #1/2 all the time and by far one of the two best female players in the world.

I realy think it would be fun to see a compition like this, but I think all it would do is hurt the WBPA.

But on another note /thought, If you want to saee top women play men, come to Joss tour events. I saw Karron and Jullie there and, must say I have so much more respect for them beacuse of that.

It takes real guts to but your butt on the line like that.

i think it would hurt more to see the women lose against A/A+ local players than the top ten.

I agee Bruin, Because that's what I saw. And that's why I respect Karron so much. She takes the bumps and keeps on going.
