Congratulations are in order to AzBilliards' two Melissas, Little for receiving an additional $500 bonus and Herndon getting $300 for the highest finish by a lady player. :)

About payouts, is there a formula which is utilized to cut up the monies? $12,000 goes to Marlon Manalo for FIRST place, and Tony "T-Rex" Chohan received less than HALF for second place, $5,400.

At some tournaments I have been to, the second-place monies is MORE than half of the first-place payout. For instance, the last Joss Tour event I went to, first place paid out $1,620, second place was $1,200, and third place was 900 bucks.

Then there was the Pro/Am event at the SBE this year. Allen Hopkins added $4,000 to the first-place payout. First place received $4,000 and the most beautiful trophy I have ever seen in my life, and second place was $1,100.

Personally, I like the Joss Tour math, but it is interesting to see the variety of methods used to divide up the purse.

Hello Renegade,

It's being a long time since i posted it here its more than 2 months already.
Kinda busy with my marriage last april 22 and adjustment period for
a marriage life is the things would keep your hands full :)

But anyway Manalo has been mentioned in this a lot of times.
Just last year he beats Efren, Bustamante and Yang in succession
in last year's edition of WPC in Taiwan. And im sure that would have
create a lot of noice and therefore sound to the pool world. 3 of the
top 10 guys in the pool world was beaten in succession, Come on.

I search the threads and i found out even before that i predicted that
Manalo would be the next best Filipino player that would come out
in the Philippines and posted it last January 2004 and come july of that
year, Manalo gone cold blooded and slay the efren, busta and yang in
succession as aforementioned. And i also mention that it would
he would be given a chance to play in international play he would a
tough guy, and bang he's 1st (?) tournament in the US, he won it
all.

I think the 3 Filipino players that to look out this coming WPC is not
Efren and Busta (although this 2 guys still tough to beat) would
be Manalo, Alcano and Pagulayan. Of course i could be wrong,
we never hold tommorrow. :D

By the way before your asking me regarding Jeff "Bata" Luna
one of the up and coming young filipino player, he's a lefty
and plays very well but in my own opinion still needs a lot of
exposure and substance in his play. He just won i believe
the Filipino Open being sponsored by Solar Sports this year not
the recent All-Filipino Open though a month ago.

Till here and till next posting. ;)

By the way here's the thread i mention .
