When did the Sands Regency in Reno and the US Open switch from the Gold Crown table to the Diamond table?

And yes, I know at times the Sands Regency tournament was played on the AMF Advantage table. Which, of course, was a Gold Crown copycat.

I believe the US Open switched starting in 2001 after Strickland defeated Okamura in the 2000 finals. But I'm not sure about the Reno tournament.

I used to go to the Sands Regency tournaments for many of the 20 years or so that it took place. I don't ever remember Diamond tables being used, I only remember Gold Crowns. I could be wrong but that's what I remember, Jay would know for sure.

For the first 15-20 years or so the Sands Regency in Reno was two tournaments a year. Early-mid June and then early-mid December. I think the last few years it was just one a year.

But I've checked and the Diamond table was used in the 2001 US Open. At least it was when Corey Deuel beat Mika Immonen 11-0 in the finals that year.

I will usually buy a few Accu-Stats videos in the winter and a lot of them are from the old 9-Ball tournaments they had in Reno at the Sands Regency back in the 1990s. I am just curious what table they are playing on? Its my understanding they are not Gold Crowns but rather a Gold Crown Copy by AMF or another company.

Anybody know what tables they played the Sands tournaments on? I thought I saw AMF on the side of a table once.

Read that. I played at the Sands one year and they were Rebcos. Weird tables. Cut of pockets big pocket if you hit rail 1st
 
I still haven't been able to determine if the Sands Regency tournament in Reno played on the Gold Crown or a Diamond the last several years it was held?
 
C'mon guys, this is a very serious issue. Even though he has half the forum blocked, please answer.

A table's life depends on this.
